  1. That's unreal. Are you sure that site didn't say "Onion" somewhere in the header?
  2. Wasn't Hinrich their best chance to defend Rose -- at least a little?
  3. If we can actually hit on our top 2 picks, that would be unusual, and I think enough to make this a successful draft. And I think there's a solid chance of that happening. So I'm not unhappy. I'm not overjoyed beyond Carimi -- but I'm good for right now.
  4. Best player available really means whoever that fans thinks is best. It's subjective, and therefore meaningless.
  5. Assuming Carimi has to play RT, I think I rather have Omiyale at LT than Webb. Yeah, what we really need to do is rebuild the entire line, starting with studs at both tackle positions. If Carimi is our stud RT for a decade, that's fine. We still need another OT, and always did need another OT. This was always an entire rebuild operation.
  6. You think Carimi fell because of a secret injury? I think it's more likely because some guys just fall, due to teams picking other priorities/players. And this year was bound to have a few weird things happen. At least I hope that's why...
  7. I think Angelo will snap back into D mode and start picking up his usual positions... For the record, I'm with you -- I wouldn't mind trading up to take Austin if we get around the mid 2nd or so and he's still there.
  8. She just discovered Jay will likely survive now. So the answer is yes. :)
  9. Protection for Cutler, more road-grating potential for Forte. Carimi is the exact pick I was hoping for.
  10. It's always a fascinating side of the draft that isn't told. Every one of these picks -- there's a veteran on the other side, watching......not liking what he's seeing one bit. Every successful pick is the end of the dream for another guy.
  11. Ah-hah! The Packers really wanted Carimi!
  12. Yeah, It's distressing how much they hit.....on everything, it seems.
  13. You know, with all the hugs and the crying, it's like some of these guys view this as the END of the journey. It's really the beginning. Kind of like with Benson -- you wonder if some of these guys have the right frame of mind. You're in for a world of hard work and pain if you're going to succeed, kid. Otherwise you'll go down in history as a bust and an embarrassment, high pick or not. I hope you're ready.
  14. I don't know. I don't see any reason to really be optimistic about this team. OK, the division sucks. Fine. I guess that's it. The division winner might well be a sucky team, so everyone will be in it. Big deal. It's still very likely a crappy season for us, AND the division winner.
  15. OK, now I'm happy! \:D/
  16. YES, FINALLY OLINE!
  17. Yeah, he's crying. Just like Benson did.
  18. I realize the Bears desperately need o-linemen, but Austin wouldn't be a bad pick. He's fantastically talented if he feels like playing. Yeah, there was the whole Lovie thing, and the obvious interest from the Bears, and the history of taking defensive guys.
  19. I bet the Pack takes Carimi now that Ingram's gone.
  20. Angelo, you son-of-a mothua. You better take friggin Carimi if he's there.
  21. You know, I told myself I wasn't going to rack my brain over Angelo and his crap. But here I am, it's draft day and I'm racking my brain over Angelo's crap. Crap.
  22. Check my response to erik. I misspoke. Can we put a moratorium on picking the Lions though? Every year people pick them as the fashionable team that will win. They always suck in the end. Until they prove something, they deserve to be picked to suck. They were very competitive in every game they played last year and were a better team than their record would indicate with a mixture of bad backup quarterbacks last year. If Stafford had been healthy, they'd have likely been at 8+ wins. He's probably always going to be injured, or fighting injury. Then he'll be gone, and they'll be right back where they always are. Once they show they can hang with the top of the division, I'll be happy to change my opinion of them. As of now, they're bottom feeders in the NFC North until proven otherwise.

  24. I wish Mac would wise up a little. He's one of the few who are interested enough in hockey to provide some useful insight, but he continues to go down these tangental, inconsequential paths that basically amount to the fact that someone rubbed him the wrong way, so now it's all about undermining that person at every turn.
