  1. Crap. Hell. Frak.
  2. 54. This is crummy news. Always loved watching him hit. I think it was one of his last seasons, I got to see him play @ Wrigley. He hits a double down the LF line. The Wrigley crowd - we all gave him a standing O. He deserved it, no doubt.
  3. Yesterday, maybe. Let's see how that shakes out today and moving forward. I'm definitely classifying them differently now. I'm just a casual fan and I don't call in to radio shows, though :). I STILL hear people say "man I hate seeing the Spurs win, they are so boring". Funny because they are actually one of the more enjoyable teams to watch in the league these days. They really are. I hate watching NBA games because they tend to be so plodding and one on one, but the way the Spurs move the ball and their offense flows makes them very enjoyable to watch. My guess is that casual fans don't understand any of that and simply want to see the show time stuff. I'm going to try harder. Watching the Spurs this time was a lot of fun. And selfishly I kind of feel like the Bulls will need to follow this sort of model for awhile, and I'd obviously like it to work out.

  5. It's a path to winning that I prefer over the Heat's.
  6. Hard to stomach that game 7 OT loss seeing what just happened here. But the Kings were clearly a top team, they kept coming back over and over. Just no stopping them this year.
  7. That's it. Congrats Kings
  8. Some crazy stuff going on. Goals missed by insane weird bounces - lucky stick pokes. Great late night entertainment if nothing else
  9. Sure it would be amazing. But I'm surprised you are giving this anything more than a cursory glance.
  10. Definitely excited to see what "year 2" will mean for him.
  11. What kind of shot do we have of getting out of the first round this time?
  12. Looks like the Cup was really decided in the WCF
  13. I had to look it up, but it seems the league actually passed a rule on the show's selection process, and it is documented here: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000259014/article/owners-pass-hard-knocks-rule-at-nfl-fall-meeting Volunteers are accepted. If nobody volunteers, the league will appoint a team to appear on the show, and they must. The following teams are exempt: 1) First year head coach 2) Made the playoffs at least once in the past 2 seasons 3) Have already appeared on the show, going back 10 seasons I think some of the confusion is from stories that have come out saying a team "turned down" the show. They can't turn it down. They can decline to volunteer, but if they qualify then the league can force them to be on the show. At least, that's how it looks to me.
  14. They haven't led for a single second in the last three games and are 3-0 in those games. That's true, wow. Magic carpet ride. Oh well, I don't really like New York winning stuff generally.
  15. 3rd LA goal looked like interference, too. Hockey gods are just on their side.
  16. LA just can't be denied this year.
  17. It's like the Kings need to go down 0-2 before they are interested enough to play
  18. Memories of fun baseball are poking their heads up from the fog of the distant past
  19. He tells better stories than any of the actors and musicians they have up there
  20. The surrounding area was nice....long ago.
