    The lone Cub fan in the front row is amusing. There's an eerie feel going on at the end of the year in these newer, cavernous stadiums

    This is Cubbie Christmas. Now that (almost) everything is settled, I want to watch these games. It's going to be relaxing and fun.

    Yeah, I thought there was a whole discussion about this awhile ago, and the outcome was that nobody is going to give a [expletive] as long as it's not a glob of goop dripping off the pitcher's hat or something. Apparently someone just doesn't like the fact that Arrieta is really good, and he's not pitching on their team.

    I think mine was a Phillies game too but the only thing I really remember was rooting for Jerry Morales, who was my favorite as a kid. I think de Jesus was also on the team, which would make it 1977.

    The umps really are blind then, since they apparently can't see Arrieta touching his hat in between pitches. Or maybe they just don't care, just as they don't care what the strikezone is.

    Playoffs are off the table as expected, and the roster is swiss cheese. I don't see a better outcome from this season than a high draft pick. Worked for Indy right?

    It still hurts me to see the Bears play so terrible. The baseball season will be over; Hawks and Bulls won't be interesting until after the new year. That leaves 2 months of a desolate wasteland of Bears incompetence. I'm hoping to root for a higher draft pick in December but it will be hard to feel good about that.
