  1. Time to stop acting like losers and start swinging the damn bats. ENOUGH!
  2. Chill out. They're .5 game out of first. They're not even losing this game. Yes they're in a funk, but it won't take much to get back in first. Relax. You're just trying to make us mad. There's no way you aren't frustrated right now, don't pretend!
  3. Can't take this crap anymore!!
  4. *NOT* work-friendly.
  5. edit: sarcasm, Ryan? how many times has he done that, significantly hurt himself running the bases? He has averaged 156 games the last five years. Being injury-prone is very hard to causaly quantify, but with Sori, you have no shot. And it happens for the first time magically, the first year he plays for the Cubs. How is that not a damning indictment of our training staff?
  6. what? +1. Eh? Case in point, it takes more than muscles to hit Homeruns. how long was Barry allegedly on the drug? We don't know Did Barry use anything other than "the Clear" or "the Cream" for any legitamite period of time? We don't know. So just stop accusing Bonds of everything that you can't prove damnit. Yes Bonds was on insulin, EPO, and horse/cow steroids in addition to the cream and clear from at least 2001-2003, the biggest years of his career. You don't think we know? The evidence is far beyond a reasonable doubt. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/magazine/03/06/growth0313/index.html Yes it takes more than muscles to hit homeruns. But when you add steroids to his already hall of fame ability, you get monster numbers. These numbers skyrocketed after hsi career was winding down. Why did he take them? He was jealous of Sammy and McGwire. Bottom Line: He NEVER failed a steroid test in his life. He's the only player in both the 400-400 club and 500-500 club, that's amazing. I'm ending all arguements on my side. Except that it's not the bottom line when we have a mountain of documentation and Grand Jury testimony that shows he did use steroids, along with other performance enhancers. We've got the exact drugs that were taken, the schedule he was on for each drug, the testimony of others who say he took them, under oath mind you. You would have to literally shove your head in the sand to believe he didn't use. The people who leaked the testimony did JAIL TIME for doing it -- think that happens when it was faked? Again, Barry's one of the greatest even without the drugs. But there's so little question he used it isn't even funny.
  7. Agree. If anything, Fontenot takes over to 2B when DeRosa moves to the outfield due to Jones piss poor bat. Also, I think Lou will try Pagan against LHP to try to ease Pie back in as a regular. Lastly, Theriot looks like the more consistent out there out of all players that have been shuffled around, so he's not going to sit for Cedeno. The issue of course is that leaves them with no backup shortstop. Teams rarely go without a backup shortstop. You're correct. Edited a bit too slow. DeRo will play short too. And catcher. Maybe he can spell Marquis a few times. 8-)
  8. I think she is either 14 or 15 years old....javascript:emoticon(':- Whistle What? She looks at least 20! I feel dirty now  Dateline NBC will be arriving shortly Hahaha. To Catch a Predator 8: stupid Cubs fan gets killed by Barry, caught on tape.
  9. GIS for "1870's townball team": http://www.printsoldandrare.com/colleges/283univ.jpg what a scuffling gang of raggamuffins they are! I'll bet these guys could hit leftys.
  10. I think she is either 14 or 15 years old....javascript:emoticon(':- Whistle What? She looks at least 20! I feel dirty now
  11. Welcome to the dark side, my friend.
  12. From a player's perspective, I'd take SLG-based OPS. It puts more bread on the table.
  13. I'll always hold Bonds suspect for his steroid use, however on this day I think it's a good idea to point out a couple (albeit obvious) things: 1) Barry's talent as a baseball player is not suspect. Greatest baseball player of my generation, IMHO. 2) Barry broke the record last night, regardless of how I feel about it. I accept that. 3) Despite the title of this thread, I wasn't booing when he did it. I was actually entertained by it, and I'm glad it's now over. 4) I thought Barry was quite gracious in the aftermath. I haven't seen Barry that "gregarious" too many times. Of course why wouldn't he be? It's a huge weight off his shoulders too. 5) I noted the commish's absence, and enjoyed Hank's little video. Hank's stance has never been an issue for Barry from what I understand. I think that controversy was largely made up and should be put to rest. 6) Barry's daughter is hot. (I think the older one was his older daughter, right? If not, then his wife is hot) :)
  14. Everyone knows what's wrong with him. He has a knee injury that he says won't be 100 percent until at least the offseason. The organization made a plan for him that involved regular days off, and they've stuck to that. Exactamundo. Knee injuries are a bitch. I hurt my knee two years ago and it still gives me all kinds of problems on very random days. Roids'll fix that. :P
  15. I would give up Ohman in a heartbeat -- he has little value. Don't you believe that for a second. Ohman is a Loogy who has had 2 bad outings in a row, but has been pretty good for the last few years. Pretty good Loogies have long careers and are in demand most of the time. Yeah, he's in so much demand the Cubs just sent him packing for Iowa.
  16. Our homeruns are down 250000%
  17. Me too! All those games were broadcast in HD too. It gave me an extra HD baseball game every night, that was aweseme.
  18. Hilarious. I think we'll need to re-name the Central the "keystone cops" division.
  19. I'll be seeing Geddy and Rush at Red Rocks tomorrow. That's why I'm not in Houston. Little time for myself _ and Rush. Well, it will help you get your mind off the Cubs at least. Have fun Bruce :)
  20. Sick of watching the trainwreck. Have a good time folks.
  21. Geddy Lee @ Rockies, working his magic?
  22. We really need Lee to step it up right now with Soriano out. What with him being our best player. Much easier knowing there are fewer good bats in our lineup. Just get Lee out and the rest is cruise control. Kendall misses the damn tag. 3-1 Stros, this one's history.
  23. Stros blow it open, coming up @ 11.
  24. HAH. HAHAHAH. HAHAHAHAhahahahahhhhhhhh...
