Anybody know if this will be shown on Extra Innings? I'm not seeing it on the DirecTV listings, even though it should start after the Fox exclusive window.

No sign of OMC for well over 24 hours now, so I guess I'll make the pick here. The Saints still need pretty major defensive help and their weakside linebackers aren't the greatest (Scott Shanle is decent and Dan Morgan's health is a major concern). So, the Saints select LB Dannell Ellerbee from Georgia. Ellerbee can play inside or out and probably has the highest upside of any linebacker left on the board. He's had issues with injury and legality in the past, but his talent level makes him worth the selection here. Raisin and company are now on the clock for Chicago's pick. I will PM them.

surprised he didn't get more interest. He's the kind of player who will really only fit in a largely Cover 2 defense - primarily one primed significantly to speed over size. He's giving up 2-3 inches on most (non Cover 2) teams' starters. At 6-feet even, though, he's as tall as all but two Colt LBs (Adam Seward and Phillip Wheeler are both 6'2"). Yeah, but there are enough cover 2 teams out there. Did Tampa ever replace Brooks? It'd only be the heavily cover 2 teams who would have interest in him (Bears, Bucs, Colts primarily), though I heard the Texans brought him in for a visit. Not sure exactly what they're going to run since (I believe) they have a new defensive coordinator. The Bucs added Angelo Crowell and Niko Koutovides to their linebacking corps so far. Niko likely isn't an upgrade over Hagler, but Crowell is. They also seem high on Quincy Black at the other OLB spot.

The Colts have re-signed Tyjuan Hagler. Good move by them, in my opinion.

And MLB Network apparently has MLB 2K9 simulate each game they broadcast. They just showed the simulation of this game and the Giants beat the Brewers in 16 innings, 2-1.

The Brewers/Giants game is on the MLB Network. I think this is the first live regular season game the MLB Network has shown.

Crabtree and Maclin are almost sure to be gone no later than 20, I'd say. Harvin, Britt and Nicks will be the next trio to go and, depending on who else is on the board, they could be gone as soon as the end of the first round or as late as the end of the second round. However, with teams in the teens appearing to show decent interest in those three, I think the chances are higher that all three are gone sooner than later. Guys like Iglesias, Murphy, Robiskie, etc. should be there at 49, though. Of course, I could be way off too. I thought there'd be a receiver taken in the first round last year. :D

There's always a good chance Britt won't be there at 49. Everyone says all these receivers are going to be gone. Don't WRs traditionally stick around on the boards a bit, especially after the first couple top guys go? Last year, not a single receiver was taken in the first round. In 2007, there were 5 receivers taken in the first round. Then there was 1 taken in the first round in 2006 and then 6 WRs taken in the first round in 2005. This year, however, teams seem to feel that this crop of receivers are better and more worthy first-round status. There's not another position that has the potential to instantly score on offense quite like receiver, though - besides QB, obviously. That's why GMs and coaches love receivers - they can make big plays at a higher rate than other positions.

Lou could be Yankee when contract is up

As Cubs fans we can't imagine why anybody would want to be a Yankee, let alone live in that city. I'm a Cubs fan who doesn't understand why some people can't understand why a person would want to be a Yankee or live in NYC. Seriously, go to NYC and the odds of winning skyrocket, plus, you'll make more money than anywhere else. And to be a Yankee consult, you don't even have to live in NY if you don't want. Lou can stay in his hometown and be a high ranking Yankees official. Doesn't he have a house in Tampa or something? Close to where the Yankees either have offices or spring training? Yes, that is what I meant. He managed Tampa supposedly because he wanted to return home. Tampa is a huge Yankees haven. Wow, somehow I read your whole post but didn't read the word "hometown." :oops: -
As would I but I wouldn't enjoy Mohamed Massaquoi at 49. Mossaquoi would be a nice pick for somebody in the 4th-5th round. He's got plenty of talent, but underachieved greatly at Georgia. I wouldn't bet on him to be a star or anything, but I think the chances of him contributing are high enough to justify a mid-round pick. Second round would be way too high, though.

He admits he's terrible at picking winners. yet they make picks for practically every sporting event all year round. Why not? It's fun for some people. As long as he's not trying to pass yourself off as some sort of expert, who cares if he's right or wrong? Exactly. They've set up Mike and Mike as kind of a jocks perspective vs a fan's perspective. Greenberg is quite open to the fact that he sucks at predictions.

Same web site that said Cushing and Matthews tested positive for steroids which apparently was false screwed the Raji report up. Yea, so far the only guys who supposedly tested positive who haven't been cleared yet are Harvin and Jose Martinez. Wonder if they actually did anything.
