  1. I'll never complain about a guy hitting hard line drives.
  2. Better than Miles, not as good as Hoff. It's not as indefensible as Miles, but it's still a head-scratcher. Who would you have used? I also missed when Hoff was used. Ah, now I understand. :D Marmol up in the pen. =D>

  4. Better than Miles, not as good as Hoff. Hoff already went remember? I missed a few middle innings.
  5. Better than Miles, not as good as Hoff. Hoff was used. Then he might be our best PH option (I missed a few innings, sorry).
  6. Good thing we trail by just one run then, eh?
  7. I agree. Let Gath drag bunt and take his chances with his speed. I should mention, though, that Hoff is by far our best PH option, but if the choice is Miles or Gath . . .
  8. Yeah, I'm liking what I've seen from Heilman so far.
  9. Koyie Hill still has to bat. What are the chances Geo can pinch hit and hope we can end it in the bottom half? He can pitch hit but who will catch if it goes to the bottom of the 9th? That's why I said hope that we just play the bottom of the ninth. I don't know if his shoulder is strong enough for even one inning, though.

  12. If Mossaquoi develops, that'd be a nice duo of Andre Johnson and Mohammed Mossaquoi for Shaub to throw to. WrigleyField 22 and the Ravens are now on the clock. I PMd him.
  13. If you listen to him too much, it'll get tiring. He does everything by himself. You kinda wish he had a color man. I've actually listened to him quite a bit. He's one of the very few announcers out there that I don't feel needs a color man.
  14. That was a great battle between Papelbon and Kendrick. I thought Howie had at least a game-tying double, if not a game winner, on that drive to right.
  15. I think Atkins may have more value than that. Due to being nearly major league ready he probably belongs in column C even though his upside isn't all that high.
  16. There's always the question of Harden being healthy in the future too, even if he does have a healthy season this year. I don't think it's a good assumption that getting Peavy means we can't afford Harden. We've always been good at keeping the elite players we want to keep. The last guy that we really wanted to keep that walked on us was Maddux. That wouldn't stop me from going after Peavy. Get them both for the postseason. Maybe we can keep both, maybe not. If we don't try, we only have one of the two for this postseason, then one of them next year. If we get him, then we have both to try to win the WS this year, and at worst, we only have one of the two next year. Maybe things work out and we keep both. Harden's the better pitcher (probably), but due to his health concerns I think I'd prefer to have Peavy for four years. Peavy's more likely to be healthy for the duration than Harden is (effectiveness is another question I guess, but there's no guarantee when/if either pitcher will fall off a cliff).
  17. Going by OPS, May is actually historically his worst month: March/April: .899 May: .734 June: .959 July: .883 August: .841 September/October: .872
  18. I'm not that into Gilbert. I heard that too. They say he doesn't have the attitude to play defense, whatever that means. Too much of a project for me. I don't think he could go on rotation in the DL right away. I liked him more as a late 2nd or 3rd rounder - you expect more development time from DLinemen taken there. As a late 1st, early 2nd like I've been hearing recently, I agree with you. He's got some nice potential, but that's too much of a value to use on a project.
  19. I mentioned this in the general offseason thread as well, but I've heard Charley Casserley and Mike Mayock on Total Access mention that some teams are considering Jarron Gilbert as an OT instead of a DT. I don't have a link, but I figured I'd mention it here since I know some who view this thread like Gilbert for the Bears.
  20. The NFL has decided to expand the number of players invited to the draft up to 10. They used to invite 6. I've also heard mentions from Charley Casserley and Mike Mayock that some teams are interested in shifting DT Jarron Gilbert over to OT.
  21. It is on Time Warner Cable's EI. Hmmm, well maybe it'll pop up closer to gametime.
