  1. There are differences between McClain and Kindle, though. Kindle's a 3-4 outside rush linebacker from what I've heard, McClain (though he played in a 3-4 at Bama) could fit either, but might be ideal for a 4-3. Need could bump Kindle ahead of McClain, potentially. Unless he has a huge combine, I don't really think Spikes will go ahead of McClain. Possible, but he's one of the most unlikely guys I listed.
  2. I'd be much more in favor of a right handed outfielder who could platoon with Kosuke at this point. I'd prefer a cheap Hoff over Ankiel as well.
  3. Am I the only one who would find it awesome to have Oku and Uko on the same team?
  4. Gotcha. Though post mock draft stuff in the mock draft thread, since we now have one. :-)
  5. I'd say Okung is a no-brainer. Somebody in the top 5 will need a left tackle and Okung is the best there is (though I've heard Anthony Davis at Rutgers might be better). Berry could well drop, but it'd be purely because of a lack of need, as you said, than anything else. Your percentages are probably pretty accurate, outside of Okung (I think he'd be at 100%, be it a current team or a trade up for him).
  6. I'm settling on either McClain or Jason Pierre-Paul as my hopefuls for the Titans to draft (assuming no stunner happens like Berry or Haden). I really, really like McClain. I don't know if McClain will fall outside of the top 5. There's only so many picks in the top five. I've heard Suh, Berry, Okung, Gerald McCoy, Bradford, Clausen and McClain all will not fall out of the top 5. I don't know that McClain will be there for the 16th pick, but one of he or Brandon Spikes should be there and I like both of them quite a bit. I could see McClain falling outside the top 10, honestly. With Suh, Berry, Okung, Gerald McCoy, Bradford, Clausen, Dunlap, Tebow (Raiders), Dez Bryant, Spikes, Mays and Kindle all possibilities for the top 10, there's a real chance McClain may be available in picks 11-16. Not likely, but certainly possible. I don't know that Dunlap, Spikes, Tebow or Mays will be top 10 guys (Mays might fight his way back after blowing up the combine). Spikes is behind McClain and Kindle when it comes to linebackers. Dunlap has his legal issues. Tebow is Tebow. And Mays, while a great athlete, still struggles to play safety (now that's a Raiders pick). But these are my opinions on the value of these players, not taking into account teams and needs. I listed mostly guys that I thought either for need or desire (Al Davis/Tebow) or talent could go in the top 10. The combine will play a huge part in whether some of those guys actually go or not, but the potential is there for all of them to be top 10 picks. I've heard Mays can run a 4.3, if he does that at the combine and if a team looks more at his 2008 tape than his 2009 tape, he might go ahead of Berry. Similarly, if Dunlap runs a 4.5 as a rush DE and benches something really nice, I could see that well outweighing his other issues. My main point in that list wasn't to say those guys were going that high, but that there were plenty of guys I could see with the potential to go ahead of McClain.
  7. Yes, but it's hard to tell just how many. :D That's a high number to count to. :ninja:
  8. Prater has already decommitted, to my knowledge. Doesn't mean he won't recommit to USC at some point, but he has already decommitted. UT has plenty of warm bodies, if nothing else. Between Nick Stephens, Nick Lemaison, Tyler Bray, Matthew Simms and perhaps Nash Nance, we'll have plenty of warm body QBs. And guys like Bray and Simms could end up being pretty good. Nance as well.

  10. Isn't Randy Bush in the same position? Or is he just the assistant GM? Because if he has the same role, Bush has been mentioned for possible GM jobs. Bush is Assistant GM, not Assistant to the GM. Ok, I wasn't sure which he was. I knew he was a Hendry assistant, but wasn't sure of the exact capacity.
  11. You are thusly assigned.
  12. 10 teams left and I know we have fans of the Dolphins, Steelers, Packers and Cardinals roaming about on the board. I also think TT is a Bucs fan and Skyballer a Giants fan, but I'm not sure.
  13. I'm second in command of the 49ers because jame came out of his hole to post before me :P This is a good point that I forgot. Have at another team then, if you like. :-)
  14. 2008 mock draft 2009 mock draft
  15. PCP and I were way off on four of our five picks. 1st rd: Evander "Ziggy" Hood - actual: pick #32. We hit on this one really well. Titans pick was 30, so we overdrafted by 2. 2nd rd: Marcus Freeman - actual: pick #154. Ouch. Two rounds overdrafted. He didn't even play this year for the Bears. 3rd rd: Jonathan Luigs - actual: pick #106. A little better here, but I don't believe Luigs played much this year. 4th rd: Demetrius Byrd - actual: pick #224. Way off again, but I believe this pick came before his accident. 4th rd: Captain Munnerlyn - actual: pick #216. Another vast overdraft, but to our credit Munnerlyn played more and better than a 7th rd pick. Hopefully I'll do better this season.
  16. I'd prefer not to have multiple people leading teams, though if you want to join another war room, that'd be fine.
  17. reggiemiller: You're in the war room with mul21 for the Rams. WrigleyField: I believe there are no other Raven fans on the board, so they're all yours.
  18. ND is Michael Floyd and then up for grabs. A couple of solid possibilities among the young group, but no one that's really grabbed me. I knew Golden Tate went pro and Floyd was still there, but had no clue about the rest of the wideouts there.
  19. He'll probably take a head coaching job before that, I think. Monte's still going strong and I wouldn't be surprised if he gave it another 2-3 years at least. Somebody will probably hire Orgeron before that.
  20. I'd like very much for Tennessee to keep him.
  21. Apparently a couple of days agao Lane and company went to visit Sims at his house and apparently whatever he said had Sims thinking, and subsequently decommited from Bama. But if Prater goes to Tennessee, I think Sims will recommit to Alabama, cause I would hate to lose an athlete of Smis caliber. Yeah, there's likely only so much competition a kid will deal with at a school I would think (of course, I thought that as USC's stable of 5-star RBs went from 2 to 500). If we can add Prater (big if), that's a lot of star power with Ambles, Prater, Milton and Meline.
  22. I'm assuming that's a volunteering for the head of the Vikings war room. Though I recall that Post Count Padder has been a Viking/Titan fan, though he's been rather silent about it this season.
  23. Which means Blake Sims (who is visiting Bama this weekend) could recommit to Bama if and/or when Tennessee lands Prater. I think Bama could land Sims either way, but if Tenn lands Prater, it would clear up a couple of different commitment situations. I don't know as much about Blake Sims as I do Prater. Lane has been going much harder after Prater than Sims, so I'm assuming he prefers Prater.
  24. I keep thinking he was pretty close to having UT at the top of his list (though behind USC, obviously) when he committed. Not saying he'll come to UT, but I keep thinking we might have a really good chance. That said, having Markeith Ambles, Matt Milton and Ted Meline already committed with Marsalis Teague currently on campus, he might have less competition elsewhere. I have no idea of ND or Illinois' WR depth charts, however.
  25. I'm settling on either McClain or Jason Pierre-Paul as my hopefuls for the Titans to draft (assuming no stunner happens like Berry or Haden). I really, really like McClain.
