  1. I don't mind the fact that you can disagree with a move, heck I do that all the time. I hope, it can objective at the same time. In the context of this board, I don't like the impression that "we're" out to get Baker, I don't think it leads to a correct/positive interpretation of us. If you disagree with a move, provide some reasons, I disagree with the way the Cubs handled Zambrano; 14 of his 31 starts, I thought they extended him in situations when he needed to be extended. But, to say "Dusty is an idiot" or "fire Dusty" provides nothing IMO.
  2. It isn't a discussion though, it isn't subjective thinking, as it just piling on him just to pile on him. More times than not, I disagree with his moves, I just don't feel the need to display my feathers like a male peacock every time he makes a poor move. If you're in the mind-set that he'll likely make poor decision before a good move (as I am), it is difficult to have an objective thought process. For example, if Dierker was the next manager as much as I want him, I think you can have a similar thread in a short amount of time and have enough people to make it substantial.
  3. You can't find any merit to support the decision of Perez PH'ing in that situation.
  4. It is subject to too much interpretation, obviously using Perez in that situation seems easy to critique as a poor move, but more often than not a move will be decided by the outcome rather than the move itself. Say, Perez gets a start at SS to give Nomar a day off and goes 2-4, the opposition brings in a LH to face him and Dusty sticks with him, there might be enough support to merit keeping Perez out there instead of a RH PH'er. Everyone here knows how I feel about Baker, but as mentioned in another thread, he does deserve a fair shake, this is set-up for a Salem witch hunt.
  5. Talent is the ultimate factor in determining Ws & Ls throughout the season, moreso than a manager or something like chemistry and park factors (see Coors). But, there is enough parity to where a manager can have an impact on whether a team wins a division by 4 games or fails to make the playoffs.
  6. Everett leading off is one of the worst moves I can imagine for an offense that will struggle w/out Berkman.
  7. Quite a 4th quarter for the bench, Bulls will win #5 in a row..
  8. Phoenix can use the draft pick in 05' if it is not one of the 1st 3 picks, I forget the rules in 06', and in 07' it becomes an unconditional draft pick if the Suns use it then.
  9. I think they can get some size in the 2nd rd, there should be some bigger PF's who have size and rebounding skills, but limited offense.
  10. They drafted a tweener in Gordon, it won't stunt the development of Deng. Garcia over Carney? Garcia is one dimensional and limited athletically. If the Bulls draft Head, they just might corner the market small 2 guards. Carney is a much better prospect than Garcia, if the Bulls did not draft the best player avail. when they pick b/c of fear of limiting playing time to Deng and go with a lesser player, Paxson should be canned.
  11. He isn't quick enough to cover most of the quicker 3s and can't cover the 2, can he be? Possibly, but the Bulls still need depth at the 3, and I would rather see that player be able to defend or hit the jumper, drafting a 3 doesn't equate to benching Deng or calling him a bust.
  12. Everything is 2nd to bringing them back, they've played extremely well for being how young they are and this might be a great opportunity to keep a nucleus together. I am glad they are winning with defense, especially since it is mostly team defense and not as individual as it was during the dynasty.
  13. I think they should get someone at the 3, someone who lock down the opposing 2/3 or someone who can extend the defense with a solid outside jumper. The Bulls can be easily exposed by a solid 2/3, Pierce and Rip can score on anyone on a given night, but the Bulls have troubles vs. most.
  14. I'm assuming the Suns will take it, but if they didn't, I would like Carney from Memphis (athletic SF, nice defender against the 3 and bigger 2 guards). For the 2nd rd, give me... Milan Majstorovic (another SF, who can play the 4, more offensive minded and has a nice outside touch.
  15. Thankfully, another pro team where I'm not too concerned with the draft before the halfway point of the season. That doesn't mean I don't have names. :D
  16. I was about to say that was a bad shot by Duhon, by not running some clock. :D
  17. This one is going to be a dogfight, this is where you'll see if the Bulls are ready to take major steps forward. They've obviously improved, winning close games on the road is quite an easy way to gauge.
  18. He did pitch in the Dominican Winter League last year as well and put up decent not spectacular numbers.
  19. He has shown more glimpses, the year before last, he had a great second half. Also, in the Eastern Conf. (minus Shaq) there are no legit Cs capable of stopping Curry when playing well. Curry also has lost a significant amount of weight and is much more developed offensively than Chandler, while being able to stay healthy.
  20. I haven't, he's just a small #4 or a big and slower #3 who hasn't developed enough offensively to become a major factor. Much of that is because of injuries, but I would like to see him progress.
  21. Hopefully, they do it through the draft in the 2nd round. Igoudala would have been a great pick in the 1st. I hope the Bulls select that SF out of Serbia in June, no chance in spelling his name. I like Conley from Missouri to fill that role of guarding SF/SG.
  22. All depends on Curry, I think they will have enough offense from their starting 5 and top 3 reserves to compete, but they need a lock down defender at the 2/3. Teams can score at will, if they have a SG that can post up. They lack size at the guards and are not yet good enough to play team defense. I think they'll be much improved on the glass.
  23. Agreed as well, the chance to get a OF of the quality of Drew and Beltran doesn't happen too often or enough for the Cubs to not get one of them. I would feel much more comfortable with Beltran or Drew already locked down as Patterson, Beltran/Drew, and Dubois than having Dubois, Patterson, and a FA heading into 06'.
  24. I think there should restrictions on the sign. similar to that in the avatar (100*100), something like that, some pics are way too big.
  25. Gracias, that was frustrating.
