  1. Well, they cut away from the whole thing and went to the national feed early because he couldn't stop swearing. They had a delay going, but it couldn't keep up with him...the rest was just insane near-gibberish. He sounded like he'd be in tears one second and then rambling about how asking what playing Jordan was like was like asking what sex with your wife was like...and somethingsomething blacks and Jews somethingsomething. When I was hearing radio ads that Rodman would be doing this show, I couldn't believe it. I knew something like this would happen.
  2. Oh. You mean the Lakers AREN'T back? What happened? I'd love to hear what the analysts have to say about this.
  3. Can either Lu or Pierce play 2 guard effectively? Let's give the Celtics the Bobcats pick for Pierce. Straight up. SSR will love that deal.
  4. Anyone think Dwight Howard is a possibility for the Bulls now and if so, would anyone want him?
  5. I think a lot of Chicagoans overvalue that Bobcats pick. It is protected until 2016? That's a long long time for a team to crawl out of the bottom. And there aren't many can't miss players that are drafted outside the top 3.
  6. Phil Mickelson hates taxes: http://www.cbssports.com/golf/blog/eye-on-golf/21589838/phil-mickelson-says-changes-coming-because-of-taxes Hard to feel to sorry for a guy making $50 million a year. But 62-63% taxes, ouch. I think that professional athletes might get screwed worse than anyone else in taxes. After all, who else makes millions of dollars in "salary". Most people making that kind of dough make it from capital gains, and basically pay LESS taxes than everyone else. I always wondered why he moved back to California after living in Arizona. Most tour players states with little or no state tax. Between the California proposition increasing income tax on $1 million plus and the federal tax increase, Phil is taking a serious hit.
  7. It does make sense for the Bears to possibly address their WR corps. Emery has gone on record saying that he models himself after Thomas Dimitrioff the Falcons GM and wants to actively seek out 'playmakers.' I think Emery making a splashy move at WR/TE is more likely then anything moving forward. They badly need speed at those positions. I wouldn't say speed is not needed. But "playmaker" receivers cost an arm and a leg. I mean, how easy is it to get one? Speedy "playmakers" means Julio Jones, Dez Bryant, AJ Green. Forget it. Guys like that aren't available. Even a speedster like DeSean Jackson isn't happening. Greg Jennings and Welker aren't even what you'd call speedy. Earl Bennet is just as fast as Greg Jennings or Wes Welker. Fast enough. That's not why he's not as good as those guys. I 100% believe that a TE is necessary and is happening. A splashy upgrade at WR is just not happening.
  8. At best, he's maybe (?) a marginal upgrade to Cutler. I think they're probably about equal. Thinking this team will somehow turn around by giving up multiple first round picks to get Flacco is stupid, especially when that decision is based on one half of a game. Flacco would have been murdered behind our line by now. I don't know what this means right now, but Ron Jaworski in his preseason QB ranks after watching coaches film of every play from every QB in the prior year, had Cutler a slot or two above Flacco and in the top 10. If I remember correctly, he thought Flacco was a little underrated because the Ravens always had him throwing deep and outside. But he still had Cutler higher. I'm sure he knows more about QB play than just about every guy in the Chicago media, and did way more homework. Granted, it was before this season.
  9. I don't get how some Bear fans keep bringing up names like Greg Jennings, Wes Welker, Dwayne Bowe, etc. It's just not happening. The 3 main WRs for this team are Marshall, Jeffrey, and Bennett. Let's all just get used to it. It's really not a bad group. Why talk about upgrading the WR position with a potentially very expensive player when there are so many needs on this team? It makes no sense whatsoever.
  10. Well considering that its the first time Tom Brady has every blown a halftime lead at home and lost, I think they can give him a pass this time. 67-1 now with a halftime lead at home. But think of the crap Peyton was getting this year after his defense allowed a desperation hail mary miracle TD at the end of the game to go to OT.
  11. Terrell Suggs is hilarious. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000128892/article/terrell-suggs-to-patriots-have-fun-at-the-pro-bowl "We came. We saw. We conquered," Suggs said, via Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports, among other reporters, after the Ravens' AFC Championship Game victory over the New England Patriots. "Shut them out in the second half. Tell them to have fun at the Pro Bowl. Arrogant (expletives)." Suggs was just getting started. "These are the most arrogant pricks in the world, starting with (coach Bill) Belichick on down," Suggs said. We also enjoyed: "That's funny, ever since Spygate they haven't been able to win." After a few minutes, Suggs gained some perspective. "All B.S. aside, they are a hell of a ballclub," Suggs said. "... They have the right to be arrogant."
  12. Whatever happens in the Super Bowl don't ever draft Flacco for your fantasy team.
  13. that is crazy Sounds ridiculous. No way a serial cheater like him isn't in serious danger of relapse. The story said he was willing to guarantee her $350 million? It's like a crack addict betting $350 million he isn't going to smoke crack again. I don't believe it.
  14. That's why! :yahoo:
  15. How has he managed to keep an NFL job the last 4 years? Seriously. If we're all going to give coaches credit for Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers, surely we have to dock points for the guy that coaches Mark Sanchez. Right?
  16. he could have been duped and still been banging south bend chicks on the side. there's no contradiction there. alternatively, he could be gay and using the long distance girlfriend + mormon thing as a beard. After she "died" imagine all the sympathy sex he could've gotten. And he couldn't get kicked off the team for it like at BYU. Win win for straight Manti. But true. Could be a nice beard.
  17. Doesn't he have pretty much the exact same connection with Cutler? Or was that another coach in the search? I didn't link the story but it is a headline on Yahoo sports saying something like "will the Bears keep Cutler". I don't think the story deserves the publicity I am providing with this post.
  18. My mind can't process this. This is idiotic sensationalistic journalism. Written just to get a click or get cited by other news agencies. Stupid stupid story. But it's about Tebow so some stupid journalist decided it was worth it. Yahoo had something about the Bears ditching Cutler for Tebow since Tressman and Tebow had a "connection" in the past.
  19. This has been happening for a good 3+ years now. He's lucky he's playing with a top 5 player of all time. By the time he'd come to the Bulls he'd be pretty useless. This would be like TMac wanting to come to the Bulls late in his career. Screw him. He had his chance.
  20. I don't get the strong opinions voiced about people where we really have almost no info to judge. It's not like any of the candidates have been head coaches before. Of course he might suck but I like the idea of Trestman because it seems like he's risky but has a high upside. And this is a move that the old Bears would never make.
  21. Holy crap. I guess Thibs got to them.
  22. Well, I wouldn't call that ironic, but people had every right to be skeptical of Wilson. I meant the Alanis Morissette definition of the word.
  23. Anyone else think the Giants would be on their way to winning it all again if they somehow sneaked into the playoffs? And Lovie and the Bears would've gotten their asses handed to them by the Niners again. Good thing that didn't happen.
  24. Ironic, given how Bradford had 10x the hype of Kaepernick and Wilson combined at draft time. For a long time, the pocket passer has been king- Manning, Brady, Brees. Mobile QB's have shown promise in the past, but never more than a few guys, often guys with flaws in the passing game. Now there are a few mobile QB's on the verge of being elite QB's. Let's see if it gains more momentum.
