  1. Two stroke penalty. Chamblee and Faldo are going crazy saying Tiger should DQ himself. The best rule change golf has made is eliminating the rule where you sign an incorrect scorecard and get DQ'ed. Tiger has been assessed a penalty. Tough break. But I think he can still win. And I know he doesn't feel the slightest bit guilty about it. I think it'll make him play better.
  2. Ok. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
  3. Just making a general statement reflecting my dislike of Melo and the Knicks. Had little to do with the game itself. Notice how I didn't say anything about how the Heat weren't winning a ring when the Bulls snapped their win streak. So why was it so odd?
  4. Haha. Knicks. Bulls still own them. Just like the 90's! I don't want to hear about the Knicks being contenders. Melo will never win a ring.
  5. Not trying to be politically incorrect or condoning his behavior at all, but anyone else notice his stammering during his statement today? I'm wondering if he started reacting that way as a coach because he has difficulty expressing himself through speech. Perhaps that was what he was alluding to when he mentioned how he wasn't going to "make excuses" and maybe he'll say more at a later time.
  6. Probably most of us? I feel like anyone who follows the NBA regularly should know this. Just watching sportscenter semi-regularly would suffice. I had no idea about the streak until the media kept talking about the Heat streak. And the media started talking about the Heat streak when it wasn't even the longest streak in the NBA THIS YEAR. So no. I don't think people care too much about it. It's a media creation more than anything. What's the longest winning streak in baseball? I couldn't tell you off the top of my head. I seem to remember the Orioles had a nice one years ago. And maybe the Mariners recently? But I have no idea. How many of you guys actually know it off the top of your head.
  7. Not disagreeing but how is Collins different than all the other Duke assistants that have bottomed out? because this is northwestern. Can't fault NW for the hire. But if somehow he succeeds and does great for NW, then he's gone for Duke in a few years when Coach K retires, right? Isn't this like a no-win situation for NW?
  8. LOL at the Heat trying to pretend that they didn't care about the streak.
  9. :yahoo: Gotta hand it to them. They played with some serious balls. Completely overmatched. But pulled it out. And Miami's pissed!
  10. Oh! The announcer is calling it now! NOO!
  11. Let's see them slither out now
  12. It feels like I'm swimming against Michael Phelps after he spotted me a huge lead.
  13. Huge steal by Kirk! 9 point lead!
  14. I can't believe the Bulls aren't getting blown out. But I see a loss.
  15. That was a no brainer. He lowered his shoulder into Boozer. Intent more than anything. There is no way that was continuation.
  16. Tiger is winning again and making it look easy. Just like the old Tiger. Kill the par fives, make a couple of putts, shoot 4-5 under. Ho hum. He's not blowing up on holes with horribly errant shots. And most importantly, he's putting well again. The reports of Tiger's demise were seriously premature. Watch out.
  17. I'm in a fantasy baseball league that's straight roto. I think this sucks because there are like 3-4 teams at most that have any shot by the all-star break. And with a month left to go, its usually a 2 team race. But many people are against head to head because they feel its unfair. So I was thinking why not have the top X teams make the playoffs based on roto, then do a head to head playoff. Anyone else do this? Is there a good way to make this work?
  18. I have the same reaction to this as I have to Cub fans who complain about Theo not spending money. If there is a good opportunity to build a championship level team and they decide not to do it because of money, then I'll be upset. Until then I'll keep my mouth shut.
  19. I remember watching that game like it was yesterday. Damn this Michael at 50 stuff makes me feel old. But if all my teams suck forever, I got to watch and root for the greatest athlete of all time. So I can't complain.
  20. Great read. Captures what a competitive prick he could be. But of course that's what made him so great. Damn I miss watching him play.
  21. Yeah, much better overall pieces to work with on offense, and much better playcalling. Haven't we been harping on giving jay something to work with for 3 years now? Yeah. And the Giants have done it recently too. The thought crossed my mind as well. But let's face it. The Ravens have won big games, and big games in the playoffs. Including many games they weren't supposed to win. When was the last time Lovie's Bears won a big game they weren't supposed to win? Usually those are the games where they get owned and get blown out.
  22. I grew up watching McMahon and then Harbaugh play QB. I don't recall Jim throwing any tantrums as a player. I don't think that side of his personality really came to light publicly until he started coaching. I don't recall it at all. He's basically become Bellichick. He says absolutely nothing of any substance in press conferences. He is super competitive, arrogant an has developed a sore loser reputation.
