  1. He's probably too much of a coward to do the right thing. I'm frankly surprised he hasn't done it already. And I'll be even more surprised if he doesn't do it before he goes to prison. Thanks to that judge, he's got at least a few months of freedom left.
  2. Treatable or not, that's very serious to get lung cancer at his age Yeah. "Treatable" is very different than "curable". You can "treat" most anything. No such thing as a lung cancer at that age, or any age for that matter, that's not very serious.
  3. Hopefully the victims will be willing to testify and offset any decrease in his credibility. I keep hearing people in the sports media comparing McQuery to Mark Furman and saying he's going to blow the case by losing credibility. From what we are hearing, it seems to me like the Sandusky case is a slam dunk. All the victims, the Costas interview, the 1998 account, and even McQuery's account makes this case a given. Even if he did lie about going to the police, he clearly has a motive to lie and say he told the police. He has no motive to lie and say he saw Sandusky raping a boy. Does anyone with an IQ above that of an OJ Simpson juror honestly think that McQuery is making this stuff up just because they can't find a stupid police report? I think the McQuery stuff has a bigger implication on the inevitable civil suits, because it will speak to how bad the university cover-up was. Because from what we're hearing about the cover up, it looks like the courts and the victims lawyers are going to engage in some serious "horseplay" with the Penn State.
  4.
  5. He was asked "Are you sexually attracted to children" and his answer was pretty much "SEXUALLY attracted? No." I just saw the interview. It was absolutely a disaster for him. That part was really creepy. And for him to try and imply that grown men who are not pedophiles normally engage in "horseplay" in the shower with young boys. I'm actually a bit surprised he hasn't killed himself already. He's clearly humiliated and ashamed at the whole thing and knows he's likely going to get abused in prison and die there.
  6. Not so sure about that. Pujols almost 5 years older, had a worse year in 2011, and wants a lot more money.
  7. I haven't seen the interview, but as I understand it, he claimed "not to be a pedophile", yet admitted to showering with kids and touching them. And said it was "horsing around". Hmm. That's an interesting defense. Why in the world would his attorney or him agree to do this again?
  8. NFL is so unpredictable. Eagles lose as 2 TD favs. Unreal. I'm starting to seriously doubt Andy Reid and the Eagles coaching staff. He has Vick dropping back and gunning it like he's Peyton Manning. Explain how McCoy gets 12 touches in a game they are leading by the mid 4th quarter. The guy only averages like 6 YPC, yet you give it to him 12 times. Absolutely horrible.
  9. We need a couple of $5 million middle relievers and a lead off man. Come on Theo. Make it happen!
  10. I highly doubt it. No way. SF fans would throw a fit. People still haven't forgiven the team for the Zito deal, even after a WS. It would be the worst PR move ever. What? We sign Zito for a zillion dollars and let Timmy go? Everyone here seems to assume that Lincecum will be re-signed. And I also doubt Lincecum ends up on the Yankees. Can't see him playing in NY.
  11. Well that's just not true. But yeah, silly contract. Wow. His stats are pretty good this past year. Maybe my view is skewed because he was on my fantasy team and sucked at the end of the year for me like all the Red Sox I had, causing me to blow a monster lead at the end.
  12. Absolutely silly money for Papelbon. He's not even that good anymore.
  13. If you take the games out that the Packers have played against their opponents to determine what they did against the "normal" teams in the NFL, the Packers SOS is 27 / 58 = .466. This is one area where SOS can be misleading. The Packers are naturally going to have a low SOS because them winning has affected their SOS by .125. And conversely, the Bears have the strongest schedule of teams with a winning record.
  14. He has cancer so maybe. Welp, didn't know this. its ok, we all thought it I'm only wildly speculating based on my medical knowledge and what's been released via the news. But if he was diagnosed during an "emergency appendectomy" 3 years ago and has been recently undergoing chemotherapy, it doesn't sound good. Most likely, this is an intestinal tumor, and in all likelihood it has spread. However, again, I no nothing more than what's been stated in the news and I could be completely wrong. Props to him for his attitude and continuing to work through all this.
  15. I don't think the punter is fast enough to out run everyone in 9 seconds. Then they get the ball in your territory with a shot to win it. Why would you snap the ball to the punter? Maybe with 3 seconds, but with 9 seconds that is awfully risky. Not that easy to elude 11 guys for 9 seconds. If you punt it, the only way they win is with a hail mary.
  16. BALLGAME!! I'm going to have a nice plate of crow right now, because I was calling an Eagles win. And I'm going to enjoy it.
  17. I hate having a 6 point lead here.
  18. The right call, but we caught a nice break there.
  19. That was brilliant if the punter doesn't throw the ball 3 yards short. I'll assume that he made the throw in practice pretty regularly or they wouldn't have run it. Absolutely. I definitely wouldn't call it dumb. In fact, I'd call the Bears dumb there. Most high school QB's can make that throw.
  20. That punter can play QB at Alabama or LSU.
  21. Hmm...do I put in a Waiver claim on Earl Bennett for my fantasy team? Or is this a fluke?
  22. When did Earl Bennett become such a badass?
  23. The Barbarian in beast mode for that TD.
  24. Yeah, just threaten to move. I'm sick of hearing all these complaints from the city and Wrigleyville residents. No more night games. No more renovations. No more traffic. No more money. How about no more Cubs? Let's see how they like that. When the jobs and customers go away, and their real estate all the sudden crashes in value, they will wish they put up with a few more night games and renovations. Even a few strangers peeing on their lawn at night.
  25. No way I'd bet this game either way. I could see the Bears losing big or possibly winning the game. I think a line of 7-8 is pretty accurate. I have to say, I'm pessimistic about this one. The Eagles are talented, still desperate, and very dangerous.
