I'm specifically referring to him being fourth only in terms of Jed landing free agent targets that offseason. He was a clear fourth choice league wide. The Cubs made a higher offer to Turner and Correa that offseason. It's great Hoyer and the rest of the league were wrong about Turners and Correa's ability to stay healthy. Wasn't arguing it hasn't worked out for the Cubs despite them not spending enough to bag Turner at the time.

I was wrong about Fairbanks and the Mets , they just signed Luke Weaver instead.

There isn't a GM in baseball who would rank Swanson the 1 target at shortstop going into that offseason.

Bob is likely right but a day early on the announcement. I don't hate Gallen it's losing the draft pick and IFA space on top of paying market rate for SP that sucks.
