    Cool story for Charlie Barnes getting back to MLB after fours years in Korea. Expected to see him this year just not in April. Pitching depth is getting bleaker by the day.

    It's a long season but with three starting pitching options down the Cubs can't afford to wait and not sign a starter of the free agent scrap heap and go over the L/T.

    Giolito Tyler Anderson Alex Cobb Nestor Cortes Kopech Losing Horton, Boyd and Wicks this early in the year they have to add an arm , otherwise at some point this season Vince Velasquez will be in Chicago.

    They need to DL him take advantage of the built in off days. ZERO need to rush him now. Hopefully the Cubs don't do what they normally do not play a guy for ten days then DL him 30 days immediately after.

    Really hope Brown throwing in relief yesterday was schedule related. Keep him in Iowa working on that Sinker and Kickchange they need him in the bullpen... yet.

    Mo's been posting hype videos of himself working out all offseason on his instagram stories , not sure if he's lost weight but he' putting in the work.

    "Kelly has caught 55 Zac Gallen starts in his career. And in those 55 starts, Gallen has a 2.81 ERA, while opposing batters are hitting just .202/.271/.337 (better than he has with any other catcher with whom he’s worked, min. 7 games). Gallen has more Starts with Kelly than anyone else." Nice tidbit from Bleachernation. Gallen would fit too nice, it's going to be a letdown if he goes elsewhere.

    Duran, Armstrong. Happ outfield defense would be worth it.

    Berti wasn't a bad gamble last offseason for a final bench piece it just didn't pay off. I don't want to trade Shaw but if they did somehow got Abreu or Duran? I'd fine with any of these guys taking his place in that scenario. Luis Urias Ramon Urias Luis Rengifo Jose Iglesias

    Bruce Levine mentioned today trading a guy like Tallion for a closer or RF if they land Gallen. He didn't mention any names. Hottovy was on later in the show and they talked at length about six man rotations. Hottovy is fan of them when you can use them but burns bullpens and you need optional guys.
