Baez to CF? I don't see disaster. It might not be great but unless you are moving off of SS because of age or sizing out, you should be able to go from SS to CF. Baez is fast enough to play CF, but he would need to do a lot defensive training. I think he could do it and end up like a young Carlos Beltran

Eh, I doubt it. It'd be great if Almora makes it as our CF, but by that time, we can find another guy to replace him. Maybe Happ, maybe Baez, maybe we just sign Fowler for 4 more years Gross. This better not happen. I agree, hopefully if Fowler is around its just 1 year. He doesn't seem like the long term solutions.. I could see the cubs giving a QO and he takes it, but 2-3 years, not sure about it.. -
As far as I know baez has a pretty good arm..

He made alot of adjustments just watch video. The if you isolate a certain period of games you can make stats say whatever you want to. If you go based on the whole season do the math. he is on a pace to K less. That has nothing to do how he has played the past several games, rather you can see he made adjustments over all the games he has played. I wish fangraphs had Contact rate stats for minor leagues. I couldn't find them. I'm pretty sure his contact rate is up this year vs. last year.

why do you have to measure by 48 games? if you look at his entire season this year in AAA he is on a pace to K less than last year in AAA. limiting a number of games to cement your point is understandable but I don't see how you can deny the fact that at his current pace, with the same amount of AB's as last year in AAA that he would in fact K less.

they're not? how are they different at all? keep in mind his season numbers in AAA from 2014 are held down by his horrific start. He's putting up the same numbers right now that he was putting up last year right before he got called up. Lets see AAA in 2014 .260 Avg/.323 Obp / .510 Slg (.833 OPS) 388 AB 130K AAA in 2015 (not including tonight) .300 Avg / .376 Obp / .523 Slg (.908 OPS) 203 AB 57 K If you spread it out over the same amount of AB's 388 AB 108 K That's a reduction of strikeouts by about 17%

La Stella/Coghlan as primary 2B isn't an acceptable outcome for the offseason, and I like La Stella more than most everyone. If you trade Castro and Baez, you're adding another middle infielder. I agree I think La Stella is just an upgrade over Herrera.
