  1. Not sure but Fangraphs says he hit 97 mph on the clock and gave him a decent curveball score http://www.fangraphs.com/scoutboard.aspx?type=1&pos=sp
  2. On ESPN2 I assume he could be in the pen by July. Especially since he doesn't have many college innings this year I cant say how excited I would be if we get Jay especially since he is from lemont.. that would be sweet --- however he prolly grew up a sox fan lol
  3. I read where McLeod said that he thinks Jay can start. If they get Jay, I hope they do a Chris Sale with him, put him in the pen this year and then stretch him out to start next year / an beyond. Jay is starting today in the elimination game of the college world series vs. vanderbilt ---- 3pm if he was dominant here i bet his stock goes through the roof.
  4. I saw a few Illinois games as my little brother goes to school there and man that guy on the mound is pretty impressive. Have to remember Chris Sale started off in the pen too.
  5. aw shyte yeah thats pretty neat (btw im procrastinating at work too lol) too bad we played a boat load of H2H games vs. Pittsburg already --- feel like were gonna have to beat them to get ahead of them.. They have been really really hot aaand we dont play them till August
  6. Seeing as there doesn't seem to be anything overly exciting likely to be there at #9, I was kind of sort of thinking in terms of taking Aiken there and hoping he'll sign for slot and then go overslot happy in the other rounds. It's not like it would be our biggest waste of a top 10 pick this decade. still hoping Jay is there although everyone thinks he wont be
  7. The article on ESPN today about Schwarber said he will play wherever they want him, but he does not expect to get promoted http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/_/id/31370/cubs-kyle-schwarber-ive-never-thought-of-any-promotion
  8. Wasted season? It sucks, but I wouldn't go that far if it's only a month. If you can't trade Baez in July it's a wasted season That's extreme. You can still trade him in the winter. i dont think baez should be the one getting traded at all
  9. 0 I thought it had to do with being on the roster before September... Maybe that has to do with traded players. The trade deadline is in July... Are you guys thinking of teams signing guys by a certain date in the NBA to be eligible for the playoffs? Lol. You have to be on the 40 man roster on Aug. 31 to be eligible for the postseason, so a player acquired through the waiver process after 8/31 can't play in the postseason. oh ok thanks so its the 40 man not the 25 man roster. wasnt sure. thanks for letting me know!!!!
  10. in order to be eligible for the post season how many games does a guy have to play?
  11. I just saw this news.. darn that stinks i was looking forward to seeing him play at wrigley in the near future... do broken hands / fingers ever lead to serious regression ? or is it just a heal and get back into the swing of things type of situation?
  12. Yeah at this point it wouldnt be hard for Baez to out perform some of the guys on the team getting playing time every day..
  13. The Astros did us one better though, they got out of the Cardinals division. As much as it would pain me to leave the NL or the Central. I wanna get away from the Cardinals too ><
  14. jesus bomb is right looking forward to seeing back to back to back to backs at wrigley like that rizzo > bryant > baez > soler YOUCH!
  15. Hendricks did real good vs. the Nats last time. Hoping for a win tmrw it could be a preview to the post season~!
  16. 1) Swanson 2) Bregman 3) Rogers 4) Tate 5) Tucker 6) Allard 7) Benintendi 8) Fulmer 9) Jay 10) Newman please let us get jay
  17. your boy castro hit a double with 2 outs and coghlan had a single to knock him in. that last at bat castro is the good castro. he needs to do that more often and stop trying to hit home runs.
  18. sweet thanks for the explanation. so if they get a 20 yr old where do you think he starts low a?
  19. Yup. Right under the glove. have a feeling baez woulda snagged it
  20. yeah then he started to do that phil coke shoulder bump in the stretch and it just went down hill from there
  21. damn bryant hit a laser so hard he couldnt get to 2nd fast enough
