    maybe but people said the same thing about Bryant at 3B sure he isnt the best, but was mike piazza's D that good really at C? 23% CS rate, -5 Rtot/yr, but piazza was a superstar (albeit PEDmonster)

    yep after he had just flailed at the slider...at least try it one more time and Paul Goldschmidt is the best hitter in the game, but yeah to bad for Rizzo he would easily be the best 1b in the NL if it wasnt for Goldschmidt. HEY DBACKS TRADE GOLDENBOY TO THE AL, k? thanks!

    making a trade makes more sense if you're fighting for a spot. if you're stronger and in a solidified position, it makes less sense. sure so trade away baez schwarber mckinney almora torres and bunch for cueto and chapman and regret it for ten years

    Alright look at the past what other teams traded for impact players for fucks sake the A's had to give up 2 studs for Shark and Hammel (Rental) granted Shark got them a good white sox prospect afterwards. If they have to give up top 5 caliber prospects to get a guy for 2 months its just not worth it to me.

    seriously what the hell do you think is objective about this? here is objective http://www.baseballprospectus.com/odds/ http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx 59% (before last night) and 53% playoff odds respectively, with a team largely getting contributions from sub 25 year olds, but you want them trading away good players for some unknown reason guess you and mojo have your heads aligned yet again here They will have to trade away ALOT to have a chance at a wildcard spot. I dont see the downside of letting all the kids just get experience this year and call it a day. im as impatient as the next fan, but why burn up what the FO has been spending the past few years on building up just to have a CHANCE at a wildcard spot.

    Guys Dont shoot yet, but im hoping we are sellers not buyers at the deadline. Why? well because while I hope we pull through to get a wildcard spot, realistically i see this team as a game or 2 over .500 which is still a great improvement. and well, i dont really wanna see Theo and company trade away great prospects for a shot at a wildcard... if it was the situation like in the west where the #2 team is more than likely a lock for a wild card then I'd think a bit differently,.. Anyways I hope they are sellers again this year and move Fowler Montero Castro For as much value they can get in prospects Alcantara can play CF the rest of the year, we know the middle infield has depth and one of the guys in the minors can catch. I know this will probably get people shooting bullets at me, but just looking at it objectively would rather the cubs have a ton of ammo in december and not burn it out in july

    since the iowa game is 805 they have plenty of time to determine if soler is going to the dl and they need a call up.
