1. Cubs clinching in 1984. I blame the '84 Cubs for my struggles during my freshman year in college. I skipped way too many classes to catch Cub games down the stretch and in the playoffs. This is number one because they had never, ever even been in the playoffs in my lifetime to that point. They will be my favorite all-time team until one wins the Big One (please be this year!). 2. Cubs clinching in 1989. I was out of college and working my first real job and had a bad case of bronchitus and flu in September and October that year. It may be the reason that first job didn't quite work out. 3. Zambrano's no-hitter. I have been waiting for one of these since, well, 1972. My memories of sports goes back to 1973, so this is the first Cub no-hitter in my conscious life. There have been so many close calls. 4. Wood's 20 strikeout game. This is actually a greater feat than a no-hitter, and probably a better pitched, more dominating game. I was so pumped about this game at the time because it gave a glimpse of the potential of our new young ace. If only things had worked out like they should have. 5. Game Four of the 2003 NLCS. It was the greatest feeling in the world knowing that the Cubs were just one game away from that elusive World Series. This was followed shortly by the worst feeling in the world in Game Seven of that series.
