  1. Now playing the part of Albert Pujols.....Jason LaRue. The Reds pitching is disgusting. Walk, walk, homer. Walk, homer....5-0 Cardinals in the first.
  2. What's this? No love for Joe Carter?
  3. Kemp stole second. He was out but the ball was dislodged and Theriot bobbled it, thus the safe call.
  4. Wouldn't it be awesome if Lou actually did that? It would be awesome if Marquis returned the favor whenever Lou goes out to put Marmol in the game with a four-run lead.
  5. It's a good thing the Cardinals didn't snag him or there would have been a realistic chance of this happening.
  6. Ugh, Marmol wasted energy doing that. My thoughts exactly. He should have handed the ball to Wuertz to toss to your daughter. At which point Wuertz would have tried to toss your daughter the ball a couple times but continued to miss throwing to her outside, and needed to hand the ball back to Marmol to toss. Actually they would have tossed the ball to Wood to clean up the ball-tossing mess. He would have either thrown her a perfect strike...or plunked her in the ribs.
  7. Kerry Wood? Bet Lou is wishing he hadn't pitched him with a four-run lead last night. Or maybe not.
  8. This is payback for the September the Rockies had last year.
  9. He never made it passed spring training. Just another stop on his mission to wear every major league uniform at least once. Didn't realize Spring Training went all the way through April 23 in 1999. He never actually played for the Chicago Cubs though, right? I believe he was signed to a minor league contract with a stipulation that he had to be called up by a certain time or released. I believe the Cubs released him and he went to Milwaukee and pitched decently.
  10. Really doesn't matter as you have to bid for the rights to talk to him with his current team, not to mention all the bids are blind. That bid alone is going to be $60 Million+ and doesn't include his contract which will be huge. I understand that but all Fukudome has to do is pick up the phone and give him a call. Players are always encouraging other players to join their team. Yes, but again, it doesn't matter. Darvish wouldn't control the team that gets his rights, it's a blind auction. If the Cubs manage to win the auction then yes. The only thing useful Fukudome do now is talk to potential owners about ponying up the $70 million posting fee to have the rights to negotiate a contract with him. Actually we might be better off filling Cuban's blog with emails about this guy and how he is the next Dirk of baseball or something of that nature. Given Dirk's performance in the playoffs the last couple of years, would that really be a good idea?
  11. For Berkman its probably from high blood sugar from sneaking to the post-game buffet after his last at-bat.
  12. I thought Edmonds was going to dive for that one.
  13. I am going to Wrigley for the first time this year on the 1st.
  14. Sori's taken what? Three pitches so far? We will never get the pitch count up like this. :rotfl:
  15. Five years ago the Brewers were fielding forfeit lineups every day.
  16. Zambrano hasn't even taken a walk yet this year. He's nothin but a hacker.
  17. Joe blatantly stole that point from Sports Illustrated Has Joe ever really had an original thought? I mean an original thought that made any sense?
  18. Its a good thing Marmol pitched two innings last night to save the rest of the bullpen for tonight.
