  1. I ended up buying an authenic Bryant jersey off of ebay last night. Hopefully his career ends up better than Mark Prior career did.
  2. Does this mean Javy will be getting starts at 3B in Iowa now?
  3. Is this America greatest contribution to soccer?
  4. Not that it's saying a lot but I trust Wood more than Jaxon as well.
  5. No one is suggesting that we sell the farm for rental players. Most would prefer to trade our top assets for players who are under contract for more than 1 year. Trading off some of our lesser pieces for rent a players is also fine though.
  6. You're lame, jersey shirts are awesome. That's what I was thinking. Certainly better than wearing a decade old Prior jersey. A decade old Prior jersey is lame thus why I wanna replace it!
  7. I tried doing the same thing. According to people at Cub World and Wrigleyville Sports, there's really no good way to get the letters off of a jersey without ruining the jersey. You could get a nameplate stitched over the Prior lettering, but it would probably look really weird, especially the home jersey with the pinstripes. If it's the Blue jersey, it could look OK. It is the blue jersey but I just looked on Ebay and there is a bunch of jerseys in the 50 to 60 dollar range that look just fine so Ill probably just end up buying one of those instead.
  8. Jersey shirts are lame I don't want those. Do those Chinese knockoffs look legit at least?
  9. So back in 2002 I got for my 21st birthday an authentic Mark Prior Cubs Jersey. I have been wearing this jersey to the all the games that I go to ever since but I am kinda sick of wearing Prior's jersey for the obvious reasons. Since these jerseys cost like 200$ dollars or so I haven't been to inclined to purchase another one because that's a ton of money. So I was wondering if anyone has ever tried this or if its even possible to do. Is it possible to take Prior's name off the jersey and replace it with Russel on it? That would save me a lot of money and I would have a much cooler jersey!
  10. We have entered your comfort zone!
  11. Can he catch the ball? If so they better pick him up!
  12. The Ducks dominated the puck most of the 3rd period and all they got was 1 goal aided by that goalie interference. Great job by the Hawks defense there at the end.
  13. Awesome come back these Blackhawks are really fun to watch!
  14. Well this game is a lost cause. I hope the Hawks show up in game 6 and then game 7.
  15. Well this is a really shitty start to a game.
  16. I would trade Baez in a deal for Hamels and Papelbon and probably for Cueto and Chapman as well but not for these 2.
  17. We just traded away a catcher so I don't think that we are in the market to a acquire a catcher so I am not sure why that article is insisting that the Cubs need a catcher.
  18. Well on the bright side when we need to call up a bullpen arm from Iowa it won't be Schlitter anymore.
  19. Do the Mariners have any good young bullpen arms?
  20. Why would anyone trade a 25 year old #1 starter making $512,000 with 3 arbitration years left? It doesn't matter whether you're contending or rebuilding when you have an asset that valuable, you don't trade him unless you're trying to make a deal for someone like Trout. Why? Because such a player would net a huge return and he is still just a young pitcher that could fall apart tomorrow. If you aren't good and you don't have the resources to get better in a hurry, it is at least worth considering. Yeah, there's no doubt they'd consider trading Gray, but it would probably take a lot more than the Cubs are willing to give up. If they could get 3-4 good, cheap, young players for their 1 good, cheap, young player...they do it 100 times out of 100 because they aren't going anywhere. Hypothetically, if anybody could make it happen, it's us. RF and an entire infield seemingly secured for the foreseeable future, we no longer have to be stingy with prospects. I'm not saying that we empty it out, but we have talent to spare. Would a package of: Edwards Schwarber Almora Vogelbach 1 of Villanueva/Alcantara 1 of Tseng/Underwood 1 of Cease/Steele/Stinnett 1 decent quality low level guy (Burks/Caratini/D. Torrez/Candelerio/Hanneman/etc) Maybe throw in 1-2 fringy, big league ready spare parts (Lake/Bruno/Andreoli/Beeler/Batista/Cooper/SCzur/whatever) or even Edwin Jackson, just as kind of a here, 'maybe you can make this thing work again' gesture. Be too much/too little to land Gray and Reddick? Or to make it sound less insane, it would essentially be: -Edwards, Schwarber, Villanueva/Mendy, Vogelbach for Gray -Almora, Tseng/Underwood, Cease/Steele/Stinett for for Reddick -1 more decent low level prospect and some maybe useful junk for a few months of Clippard I am not opposed to using some of our farm system to trade for upgrades to our major league team but trading most of our system for 2 players doesn't appeal too me.
  21. I wonder if Wood can be a successful reliever. If he can be the Cubs are in pretty good shape there especially when Ramirez gets healthy.
