  1. Give me... RB... LENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALE WHITE! Tennessee Titans. :D
  2. I predict Z hits for the cycle.
  3. What happened? Maddux threw a pitch to Nady and either motioned for the trainer or the trainer came out on his own. Either way, everyone examined him and he decided to stay in.
  4. WHAT IN THE HELL NOT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! Edit: Phew, Maddux is staying in.
  5. Ouch, tough luck for Nic. Hope he can come back healthy!
  6. Nice group you got there. 8) Don't expect Bailey up this season, though. Reds GM Wayne Krivsky has been adamant in saying that he will not promote Homer above AA this season since Homer needs more work on getting consistency with his curveball and changeup. He's going to pitch more innings this season than he has in his entire professional career, to boot. He'll be a heck of a popular pick for NLROY next season, though.
  7. The question is whether or not he'd be happy in a bench role next season. He was complaining about the lack of playing time he got in SD and Texas, which was a large part of the reason he got shipped off in the first place. He'll be 36 next season and his numbers have been rather ugly since 2004. Would the Cubs really benefit giving him the playing time he'd want given his declining skills? The simple answer is outplay the Cubs.
  8. Is this a rumor that I missed? Surely it involves more than essentially trading Maddux for Tejada. It's Paul Sullivan's usual claptrap. I want no part of Izturis. He's Neifi Perez Redux.
  9. Just friggin' call up Hoffpauir or McGehee to play 1B. Phil Nevin will be a non-factor in 2007 and would be better served as trade bait. At least those two guys could earn a bench spot next season if they play well enough.
  10. The Cubs are the only team I know of that make their fans question the meaning of existence on a regular basis. Seriously, it's like some sort of cosmic joke.
  11. July 27th's game against Chattanooga is going to be HUGE for West Tenn. Chattanooga will be trotting out the friggin' cannon that is Homer Bailey. Homer's arguably the top pitching prospect in the minors right now and has been pitching like a man possessed in AA. His current numbers with Chattanooga: 5 GS, 4-0, 30.2 IP, .88 ERA, 3 ER, 17 H, 31/6 K/BB That's right, a .75 WHIP.
  12. Soriano historically is a good player, but he's just playing out of his mind this year. Kenny Williams has to make a move to spark his team. Detroit's pulling away while Minnesota is creeping up on them. They still have time to get going once again, but an offensive upgrade would be most welcome for them. Plus, the market for hitters is much better than the one for bullpen and starting pitching help. I shudder to think what Florida's asking price for Willis is.
  13. I'm convinced the Cubs could lose every single game remaining this season...with Dusty and company keeping their jobs until the bitter end.
  14. In regards to Larry, he may not have something against Hill, but Larry's coaching could very well be part of the problem. Bingo. When Greg Maddux is your best coach with the major league team, there's something inherently wrong with your organization.
  15. My only worry about Colvin for right now is that his IsoD has dropped a significant amount during his hot streak (at one point it was around .104 or so, now it's down to .065). Considering he's increased his average and power while decreasing his Ks, he's clearly putting the bat on the ball much more often. I'm curious to see how his numbers stack up by year's end.
  16. My problem with Pierre is that his production is so heavily average-driven...which is troubling considering how few line drives he hits. I believe he leads the league in IF hits, meaning the majority of his game is based on defensive mistakes, pitch placement, and other factors that can heavily contribute to inconsistency. Couple that with the fact that he's getting older and will start losing a step or two, I question the value of re-signing him, especially as a leadoff hitter. The minors don't currently have guys who could take over immediately. Pie likely won't be ready on Opening Day 2007. Walker is really fast, but I question how ready he is, as well. I'm really leery of Miguel Negron. Best option would be to shift Jock to CF and acquire a RF, imo. The Cubs will lose some range, but I think it would be better for the offense to pick up a guy like Abreu, Lee, or whomever for RF. Let some one else convince themselves of Pierre's worth and overpay for him.
  17. What the heck IS that thing on Negron's arm?
  18. fixed.

  20. Boy oh boy, I can't wait for Larry Rothschild to screw up Rich Hill once again!
  21. OF Wladimir Balentin and P Yorman Bazardo both have gotten some hype in the past for SA.
  22. Is it me or should they send the Cubs a giant gift basket and thank you card for increasing Alfonso Soriano's trade value 100 fold?
  23. After this series sweep, the Cubs currently stand at 3-6 as they head into NY.
  24. So, who's ready for a Mets sweep? I know I am!
