If you want some entertainment in the MSU/Pitt game beyond the game, watch Tom Izzo and Jamie Dixon on the sidelines. Both guys have been going nuts all game.

Wait, why are we talking about this? I'm a specialist at getting threads off topic. It's kind of my thing. *Shrug* In any case, the two games on right now seem to be going smoothly. Neither game has degenerated into a blow-out or a brickfest.

I had that, too. However, the moment it took me back, it went back to Gumbel so he could hype the next two games. I have UCLA and MSU in these next two games and dodged a huge bullet with Stanford winning. Not bad.

Reds Send Bruce to AAA

Considering you can make a pretty good argument about Bruce being one of the three best hitters on the Reds, this was an absolutely stupid move. I can understand making this move if you don't think you've got much of a shot at making the playoffs and would instead like to delay a guy's clock, but considering the Reds are in a somewhat weak division and are going into the season with Ryan Freel/Norris Hopper/Corey Patterson at CF...that doesn't exactly strike me as an ideal move. Considering Bruce at his worst would likely put up comparable offensive numbers to those guys, I don't see how this is a smart move. -
Geez, don't you guys know anything about Kerry Wood? He only gets injured in the most bizarre ways possible. He would never be out with a stiff back just because he has a stiff back. He'd be out with a stiff back because he was busy fighting an evil robot designed by his nemesis/former #1 fan on a remote tropical island the previous evening.

In the years I've been watching the Badgers, there has been one constant with Bo Ryan's teams. The Badgers are tremendous at effectively matching up with teams that are as good as, if not somewhat better than, they are from a talent perspective. Their system really screws around with teams that don't come across many teams that have a tendency to lock down and grind out games. It's a terrific system for the NCAA Tournament, but they inevitably run into problems. However, when the Badgers face a team that has players who are overwhelmingly more talented than their best players are, the system tends to fall apart. I don't think the Badgers have anyone who can effectively match up with both Walker and Beasley. I don't think they'd do a good job of facing off against a loaded USC team with guys like Gibson and Mayo. I'm not saying it's impossible for them to win, but I am saying that they have a lot of trouble with those teams. If they pull out tonight's game and make it out of this weekend intact, I'll be thrilled. However, I'm dreading that K-State matchup.

I wouldn't be completely sure about that. There's plenty of history of teams who have struggled with high seeds early and then gone on to do quite well in the tournament. I agree to an extent, but WVU and AZ are so much more talented than Duke (especially AZ, imo). Duke's looked unmotivated and Coach K looks like he's about ready to go on a five state killing spree. How can they go against teams with better talent and higher energy than Belmont and win?
