  1. That pitch struck him out in his last AB. Go figure.
  2. When he's not hitting, holy Lord does he suck. When he's hitting...damn. Just...damn.
  3. Considering he's an IL HS product, I figured some people here would have some insight on him. What's he throw? What's his ceiling? Will he be available at 19?
  4. GEOVANY SOTO Soto would be a good start. Rich Hill and Sean Gallagher would also likely be involved (assuming Hill's injury was not serious). Some A-ball level prospects with high ceilings would also probably be in the deal (Ceda and Donaldson maybe?). In other words, it would take a lot.

  6. Defense helped him and he had a few warning track outs. Still, he looked okay.
  7. Quick thoughts from the game: -Gallagher looked alright. He was getting decent movement on his pitches, but had a few close calls with warning track outs. -Soriano is hilarious in LF. He interacts a ton with the fans and was quite well-received by the Wrigley faithful. -People were going nuts when Z pinch hit. Go figure. -The bleachers are pretty much the same as ever. It was like the student section of a college football game with lots of drunks. Jason Bay was constantly getting chants regarding his sexuality. A number of people spent nine innings with a particular chant regarding a certain word that rhymes with his last name. Personally, I just heckled the guy for being Canadian. Fun day overall. It was a great win!
  8. Are you sure this game's not at 1:20 PM? It's what I've seen everywhere but here.

  10. Hopefully before the end of this season. They should have done it after the end of last one, but nooooooooooooooooo, he has a tool you can't teach!
  11. He's been quite a pleasant surprise. I don't think he can keep this up, but at the same time, I didn't think he'd do all that well in the first place.
  12. I'm not all that worried about 31 year olds. The PC thing is a lot bigger with younger pitchers. That said, I could go either way on letting Dempster stay in. It's only May. We need his arm down the stretch and I don't want to see him tire when July comes around because Lou keeps trotting him out there for 100+ pitches.
  13. ATTN: Lou Piniella You are not Dusty Baker. Stop trying to kill our starting pitchers.
  14. I'm beginning to become convinced that Lou Piniella has no clue what the meaning of the word "platoon" is. I wouldn't be surprised if Edmonds started all three games.
  15. Would have been a nice time for Reed Johnson there.
  16. Was that Dempster's first baserunner allowed since the 1st?
  17. That would have hit the scoreboard 4 years ago.
  18. that's what vance should have done instead Supposedly he had a huge rant yesterday. I must have missed it, because I don't think I've seen him around today.
  19. Now would be a good time to remind everyone that gay jokes currently result in a 24 hour ban. Classy move by the Cubs fans giving Maddux a standing O. This might be his last game at Wrigley.
