    I'm curious as to what would have happened to this team had Rich Hill repeated his performance last year. I'd like to think Hendry still would have gone out and gotten Harden, but it would have created an interesting logjam in the rotation. You'd like to think that Hendry would have opened a window and helped Marquis out in that scenario, but I've seen stranger things happen with this team.

    Yeah, I doubt that's why Pie wasn't called up. I'm guessing this stems from the disciplinary issues he reportedly had earlier this season when he was shipped back to Mesa.

    Regarding the upcoming playoffs... Daytona plays Game 1 against Palm Beach, a St. Louis affiliate, on September 2nd in Daytona. The series will be best of three. Uber-prospect Colby Rasmus is listed on Palm Beach's roster for some reason, so it should be an interesting series to watch. Iowa plays Game 1 against Oklahoma, a Texas affiliate, on September 3rd in Iowa. The series will be best of five. Oklahoma has two very good hitting prospects in John Mayberry and Max Ramirez. However, Oklahoma will be without PCL Player of the Year Nelson Cruz.

    Made's not a pitcher by trade, happily. I see Tennessee also decided to give Josh Lansford a whirl as a reliever. Peoria's bullpen hit a few bumps thanks in part to some rough defense, but the Chiefs held on for the W. The offense managed one XBH, but managed to get a bunch of singles and BBs throughout the game. Searle had a terrific night, giving up no runs, 3 baserunners, and striking out 2 over 5 IP. Kyler Burke tripled, scored two runs, and drove in another.

    i dunno if wisconsin is clearly better. i really like their team except for their qb, and that's only the most important position on the field. they're gonna struggle with teams that don't let them run at will. It's the same story year in, year out. The Badgers will have a strong running game, good offensive line, good receivers, capable at the least defense, and a QB who is mediocre at best. If they ever got a good QB, they'd be a yearly national title contender. Sooo true. Their Qb is always solid but yet doesnt have it to win multiple games by himself. Perenially underated football program, probably because they dont have ooh and ahhs when it comes to recruits out of HS, thats the only thing i can think of why they dont get more attention than they deserve. IF they can land a highly rated HS pro style Qb they might really have something, dude would probably have to hail from WI but hey they might land some guy who wants to start as a fresh. They do a very good job of recruiting guys along the OL and DL. Typically they can snag underrated recruits at WR, LB, and RB. For whatever reason, they never seem to pull in 4-5 star QB recruits. It's a bit of a head-scratcher, imo.
