  1. The Yankees and Cubs aren't the only ones doing this: Phillies Angels and Dodgers Tigers Astros Something is definitely going on here. I mean, cripes, looks at ESPN's Free Agent Tracker. Usually by this time of the year, there are a number of guys who've already signed. This has become a really unusual offseason.
  2. This might fly under the radar, but check out what the Yankees did... So, this leads me to two possible conclusions about why Hendry declined arbitration. 1) He thinks he can re-sign Wood. 2) Teams are declining arbitration in order to keep their budgets down, as more draft picks require more money to be spent and someone accepting arbitration could result in the team paying more money than expected. Does anyone know about this rule change, by the way?
  3. I...just...what?! Really? Seriously? He's serious. He's freaking serious. WHY?
  4. Rickey Henderson better be voted in. His acceptance speech will be epic.
  5. Everyone who wants to buy the Cubs has to borrow because of the Tribune No one's lending in the amounts needed to acquire the Cubs. Which is why the Tribune is willing to keep such a large piece of the team I seriously think that is such a bad idea, though. If Zell's going to hang onto a substantial portion of the Cubs, who the heck would want to buy into the team if they're either getting a share that's either in the minority or in the bare majority? That would substantially interfere with the new owner exerting much control over the team since that would involve inevitable conflicts with the Tribune, especially over things like budgeting.

  7. Baylor really blew that defensive drive having created two turnovers both to be called back on penalties. Need an answer here in the worst way. That's probably not the question they wanted to ask if the answer was a pickoff.
  8. Graham Harrell is a jackass. That is all.
  9. "Prior to the snap, we were paged." Awesome.
  10. Oh sweet, we get Versus.
  11. This bears repeating.
  12. It's the world's largest slip n' slide out there!
  13. I know that's paint, but Tebow looks like he just got out of a really bad fight.
  14. That was an utterly stupid, indefensible, and moronic call. And it worked beautifully.
  15. From a slushy mess to just a plain old mess. Apparently it's monsoon season in Florida.
  16. Yep, he definitely got a hand on it.
  17. Someone got a hand on that.
  18. Kansas' kicker saves the day. He would have been gone on that one.
  19. Hell of a call on 4th down. He had terrific protection.
  20. This rain/snow combination is insane. The field conditions in KC are pretty bad.
  21. Man, two awesome games are going down to the wire right now.
  22. Well, there went that.
