I don't think Figgins would be much of an upgrade over Theriot. Since he has played SS in a grand total of 27 games (and started at SS in only 17 of those games) since 2002 and he hasn't played SS since 2006, something tells me his defense at SS would likely be abysmal; probably worse than Theriot's. Any upgrade at the plate would be a decided downgrade in the field in that scenario. Also, as good as Blanco is with the glove, I do not think this team is strong enough to have him in the lineup every day. If there's another solution out there, I'd love to hear it. Maybe Orlando Cabrera, if you think his UZR numbers are a fluke and he's still competent defensively, but I wouldn't be too comfortable with a 35 year old SS on this team.
