  1. Aw, crap. Lee and Castro were coming up lame coming home on that one.
  2. Baker tweaked his back and is day to day. Woo Castro!
  3. I'm actually glad DeWitt is getting time at 3B. I've always felt he and Baker should be switched when both are playing. Granted, I'm not a fan of Barney at 2B. Egh.
  4. In this week's Hot Sheet, Chris Archer gets a spot. It's worth pointing out that Chris Archer was born 9/26/1988 and is not 19.

  7. Maybe he hasn't taken or passed a physical yet? :-k Him and DeJesus are the two confusing guys for me. I can understand Wells not being signed yet (to an extent), but those two guys don't exactly scream "super slot" to me.
  8. Some good news today... Iowa: -C Robinson Chirinos assigned to Iowa from Tennessee -IF Jonathon Mota assigned to Iowa from Tennessee Tennessee -UTL David Macias assigned to Tennessee from Daytona
  9. BA's Best Tools (subscription only) coverage rolls on with Low A. Trey McNutt was named as having the best breaking pitch in the MWL, while Hak-Ju Lee was named best defensive SS in the MWL.
  10. According to Goldstein and Callis, MLB is sitting on a ton of signings and refusing to leak them. It might be a few days before we hear anything about guys like Ben Wells.

  14. The Cubs want Anthony Rendon really really bad. http://www.baseballrumormill.com/images/gallery/anthony-rendon-walks-away.jpg “Hello, Cubs fans, look at your team, now back to me, now back at your team, now back to me. Sadly, they aren’t me.”

  16. He was drafted last year and BA had this on him: Sounds like a toolsy roll of the dice. BR says he's played CF all this season, so I'm guessing he'll continue being there in Peoria or Daytona. That's about what I'd figure the Cubs would get for someone like Fontenot.
  17. Wrong Crawford in the Giants' system, Jimbo. Still, I figured the Cubs would just let Fontenot go for nothing. I'll take any kind of return at this point.
  18. Jackson with a quality start, albeit not a particularly noteworthy one. 6 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
