  1. It depends. If it's deemed in the zone it's a strike. If not, it's a ball.
  2. Wait...Coomer is awful...LaStella is at 3B and not 2B right? I switched to radio to mix it up.
  3. I'm turning this bad boy off and just assuming we held on.
  4. Yup me too. I'll skip the entire next turn in the rotation. Drunk me popped off about Arrieta not being an ace on Friday out of frustration because I only want superhuman Jake. I think this is him punishing all of us for me talking out of turn.
  5. Maybe guys with dominant stuff shouldn't pitch to contact.
  6. This post started out good and then veered into a brick wall So he's a Cardinal fan then
  7. Oh I'll take it for real baseball but homers allowed are a real killer in the keeper league I'm in, which is all that matters when we're up 6-2 with Jake on the mind.
  8. In the 6 games against the Cardinals in September 2015, the Cubs went 4-2. Those 2 losses were both games started by Carlos Martinez, although I will say in neither game was he particularly great. He's never lost to the Cubs as well. Was Martinez the pitcher in that awful game at Busch last year when we scored like 5 runs in the first and then lost? I think he was and we had Wood on the mound right?
  9. Completely anecdotal but I feel like we don't hit Martinez well. Also, when do teams start putting all 8 defenders at 2B when facing Heyward? Edit: mainly because he's a pretty good pitcher with a questionable sexual history and even more questionable Twitter history. ****For anyone at work do not google carlos martinez twitter****
  10. That would require a sense of humor and willingness to have fun, two things Bumgarner doesn't believe in. Lester is just a barrel of laughs too
  11. If that had been Castro in years past or Soler they would've been killed by dumbass Cubs fans and the broadcasters.
  12. Time to beat MadBum tomorrow and take this series.
  13. I can answer this as I have this type of personality. It's a defense mechanism, a way to handle disappointing stuff by "expecting" it. Not a good way to go. Dude I'm a Cubs and Buffalo Bills fan. I know the sky is falling thought process, but once I started watching the games without the edge of everything is going wrong I've really started to enjoy sports more than I ever have. But I know where the doom and gloom comes from. Even with that said this team is still on pace for 114 wins this season with a 7 game lead. Enjoy it even when they're not making a mockery of the league.
  14. The naysayers with their doom boners don't make cause me anything but confusion. I've waited my whole life for a team this good and when I see people that just horsefeathers on the team during every game that goes poorly I can't grasp it. This is a team to be enjoyed because none of us have cheered for one this good, ever.
  15. This is so bizarre. Well they're 1-0 in their last one game so they're pretty much unbeatable. And sometimes when you face other guys that get paid to play baseball they beat you. Also, it's like you've not seen this offense obliterate teams before.
