Happ's blocked too don't you think? Javy's probably going to be the everyday 2B next year and Zobrist will become the utility guy. Happ could take La Stella's spot but how much playing time could Happ hope to get unless he plays in the OF. Happ is a better OF than 2B anyway.

I think Len and JD are right. The StatCast stuff was all screwy and it was registering pitch types incorrectly.

It's only weird because it's our guy. Velocity readings are up everywhere except on balls he threw. I'm not super concerned since the stuff was still good and the Cardinals were shutdown but to pretend it's not at least a red flag is weird. [tweet] [/tweet] That writeup says nothing different than anything else that's out there which is basically :dontknow: It's one start so I'm not panicking at all, but I am more concerned over the drastically lower arm slot than the velocity.

yeah unless he cares so little about money that he signs for a few hundred grand. Well he is giving up Between $190 and $200m by coming over next year instead of 2019. -

Did they forget that Ryan Howard's been awful to the tune of -4.5 WAR since 2012? Seriously, I could see an AL fringe contender taking a flier for the possibility of an August call up, but, The Braves? Just..why? Call me crazy but Philly fan doesn't strike me as well versed on advanced statistics. -
Supposedly Lester's velocity was down his first start as well. Cubs played into November last year and expect to be playing in October/November again, I could definitely see the coaching staff trying to get the pitchers to dial it back a bit in the early part of the season. The part I don't like is him getting 1st pitch strikes less than half the time last night. I liked the breaking ball command though.

Not really paying super close attention to it, but Willson appears to be stabbing at balls and jerking close pitches back towards the zone tonight.
