  1. In my mind he turned that and Strop didn't walk the next two guys
  2. Agreed. Last season's runaway regular season best record having world series winner that brought back like 22 of it's 25 man roster isn't very good.l Dexter Fowler is a 20 WAR player. Duh.
  3. Those super good Brewers are also blowing a huge lead.
  4. i swear to god people were waiting here just to insert their doom takes on this thread. Probably should do something more productive with your life.
  5. Man, you ain't lyin! My favorite take is the terrible defense one. Cubs currently 4th in DRS at 23 and the Brewers are 15th with 4....
  6. Muskat looking stupid? Never.
  7. I bet they sucked while scoring those 8 runs to get them 10 games over .500 though I mean it's Nick Pivetta so they didn't have to be good.
  8. Because the orioles did that thing they love doing which is to take away a pitcher's best pitch. Lol I still remember Bundy looking like a god like prospect throwing 100mph with a 98 mph cutter and the O's made him stop throwing it for like more sliders or something and his arm blew up instantly. Poor kid Yeah they think the cutter diminishes the straight fastball velocity so they opt for sliders. It's weird and it hasn't ever worked for them.
  9. Fake news. Who's going to be the first to post that this loss is going to hurt?
  10. What is his best pitch? His top offspeed was supposed to be his change. Looks like it's just taken a step back moreso than they cut it out. I think his issues are more due to a lack of breaking ball and not enough fastball command. He can get over a breaking ball occasionally, but it's not good enough to make hitters chase. They took away his cutter and tried to keep him from throwing the splitter too.

  12. If any team could make it work, it'd probably be Oakland with their penchant for guys who don't necessarily have super high ceilings, although I agree it would probably require either Almora or Happ. Welp, see ya Albert. I'm wondering if these reports of interest are being leaked just to drive the price up for Milwaukee. I'm an Oakland apologist and I wouldn't give up a ton for Gray with his injury history.
  13. Google Al Davis' son, Mark Davis if you want to see some bad rich guy here.
  14. lol he's an ace on a team friendly deal that is also a legend on a team that will never rebuild. Even if they decided to rebuild he's younger than Kershaw and a piece you build around. So no, he will not be traded.
  15. I'm calling it now. I don't think the Cubs are going to be moving him this month, but I do believe the Cubs are definitely going to be shopping him aggressively this offseason. His approach at the plate is terrible, and his ability to recognize and hit breaking pitches/offspeed pitches has always been poor. Throw in all the off-field problems and I think (sadly) A. Russell is going to be our version of W. Myers. I think Theo and the Cubs FO are very disappointed in Russell. Hopefully, we'll get a nice return like Was somehow got (J. Ross and T. Turner) in that 3-team trade, and we'll move J. Baez to SS and play a combination of I. Happ/B. Zobrist at 2B next year. Russell is 23. He's made massive adjustments on the fly in both seasons he's been in the majors. He recognized a flaw in his swing that was exploited by breaking balls down and away and he just decided to not swing at them anymore. And despite what your eye test scouting report says, he pulled it off, and that's not something many 23 year olds would be able to do. Now, if they're not comfortable with him as a human being they might move him, but if you're basing your whole "the front office is disappointed in Russell" take based on a shitty first half of baseball, then they must hate Schwarber too.
  16. I'll see you chuckleheads after the all star break because this is just depressing. Instead I'll be outside cooking in 107 degree heat and find it more enjoyable than watching Lester be terrible.
  17. With the dumb camera and Cutch not moving I thought Vasgersian got super excited for a medium depth fly ball
  18. Nova with what a .091 BABIP against so far?
  19. He missed his spot by about 23 feet which made Willy catch it in an odd way.
  20. It's disgustingly hot in Austin. I need to leave this stupid place.
  21. OK THINGS ARE TURNING AROUND! HEYWARD HITTING INTO RIDICULOUS DPs AND KB HITTING DONGS!
  22. 108 mph off the bat and an out? Probably not bad luck or anything like that, I mean these guys have been playing baseball for years, so they should know where the defenders are standing.
