    Coincidentally Szymborski just tweeted out ZiPS for the rest of Pujols' career. It's not great.

    Just read on MLBTR that the DBacks are in on JD Martinez. I think that would be an especially nice get for them, but their farm system is basically garbage, so any other team with the need for JDM and a halfway respectable farm should blow the DBacks out of the water.

    Not sure the DBacks move him since he's their closer/relief ace next season. But, if he were moved, I'd want him nowhere near the rotation. He's a 2 pitch guy that can't start but the plus fastball and plus curveball combo is devastating out of the pen. He's been a lot of fun to watch this year

    Kaplan is a clueless moron and so is Silvy. I used to listen to them all the time but I just can't, I follow Silvy on Twitter simply because he's a meatball and it's blast to call him out on it. I've always subscribed to the idea that there are 12 aces in the majors at any given time. I don't know where I got this number or why, but I'm pretty sure I heard it once and stuck with it. Since he made his debut in 2012, Quintana is 12th in fWAR, which I actually didn't know until I just looked it up. He's so much closer to being an ace than not being an ace, it's amazing these idiots get paid to spew dumb horsefeathers on the radio and tv.

    Oh yeah. This is going to take Howard off the hook. I don't think that Pujols will get to negative WAR for the entirety of the deal but there's a non zero chance it happens. Josh Hamilton's 5/$123m and 3.1 WAR look like a classic moneyball deal compared to Howard and Pujols. Arte Moreno is the best.

    Howard's is the worst for sure, but Pujols is a contender. 10 years $240m and he's been worth 8.9 WAR so far and that number will drop before the contract is over.

    That's so great. I love how sensitive he is about this horsefeathers too. He wants everyone to think he's an insider and then can't admit it when he gets something wrong.

    I hadn't seen this regarding the Fulmer talks earlier but they wanted Javy and Happ in any deal for him.

    Bryant and Russell aren't going to sign longterm team friendly deals. I don't feel like they need to rush to lock up Hendricks and Baez either. What does a Davis extension look like? That would be my biggest question, but also why would he not explore his options knowing teams are paying relievers like crazy?

    I'm not a doctor, but I'm sure his cost would reflect that risk, so I wouldn't imagine it would cost a ton more to get him included. Even this year, through the injuries he's been fantastic.

    So I know this is the SP thread, but what would you be willing to give up for Gray and Doolittle? Doolittle is awesome when his shoulder isn't in pieces on the floor, so I'd love to get him in a deal with Gray if the Cubs are going down that road.
