  1. Baaaaahahaahahah
  2. Wait...What the eff? Gameday changed from "Joe THurston doubles" to "Joe THurston grounds out" Que?
  3. Aaaand here is where the cardinals win it.
  4. Freaking Casey Blake. EDIT: Freaking gameday for making me think it was casey blake.

  6. This game may never end.
  7. You know, that's a good point. Second base has been our worst (non pitcher) offensive position all year and moving sori there would potentially help that. Plus, it would make our defense hilarious to watch.
  8. Didn't they release him? And yeah this isn't that big of a deal. He's not batting all that well this year anyway. He has done well against left-handers again this year which is what he was signed to do. It's too bad they've stuck him out there against too many right-handers which has deflated his numbers. If the Cubs can get Soto back soon though, the lineup against left-handers should still be strong enough without Reed there. It will be interesting to see how the Cubs will choose to structure the lineup against a left-hander now. Certainly, didn't mean to discredit what he does against lefties - but yeah, Lou has left him out there for far too many right handers this year. Either way, though, we'll be okay without him I think.
  9. Didn't they release him? And yeah this isn't that big of a deal. He's not batting all that well this year anyway.
  10. Um... He's not from Mexico. And what does interational mean? Thank you for the correction of the typo, but I'm really quite certain Alfonso Soriano is from Mexico. Have you heard him speak? He definitely speaks Spanish. I just wanted to say that your sig is awesome. Especially the little jig the guy does before he reaches third.
  11. I had AJ as a backup catcher on my fantasy squad, of course Yahoo put a note up about this happening and in it I found this awesome quote from ozzie:
  12. Hahhhhh. Oh hawkins.
  13. Don't we usually hit Oswalt really well?
  14. I saw a couple comments about his post-hr celebration and, if it's worth anything, some of his family was sitting right behind the plate so that's who he was pointing to after the HR. I still bet he gets a pitch in the ribs tonight, though.
  15. Que? So far he's had 3 starts. They go as follows: 5 innings pitched - 1 ER - Credited with a LOSS 5 innings pitched - 2 ER - Credited with a WIN 6 innings pitched - 1 ER - Credited with a WIN Granted - as others have alluded to he has walked quite a few guys (11 over the 3 games, which isn't bad, except he had five in each of the first two games). However, he hasn't allowed a home run yet as a starter and he's been able to pitch out of most of the jams he's gotten himself into. Like I said before, he hasn't been stellar - but to say he's been terrible is quite an overstatement, IMO.
  16. Someone posted that quote in another thread, though, I don't really remember where.
  17. it's actually a shar pei, johnny insider. My appologies. Not a dog guru and it looked like a pug to me. Thanks for the snark, though. and it looked like marshall gave soriano a high five to you too. WHAT ARE WE TO BELIEVE? Oh for the love of God grow up. Someone posted something that, based on what I witness every day, is untrue. I made a post a post stating that, then another stating some of the things I see that make me believe that. Are your lives really so boring and inconsequential that you, IMB, and the rest of the regular crowd really need to come out in force posting tupac pictures and making snarky comments? Get over yourselves, I hold no false delusions of grandeur about the (very) small amount of insight my job entails, but it doesn't take a 'clubhouse attendant' to see when people don't hate each other. There are the rare occasions when maybe I get to see something that the average fan doesn't that may be of some insight, so I'm sorry for trying to post that.
  18. I agree. It just annoys me how hypocritical the HOF can be about some of this stuff. Look at the first guy they ever inducted (Cobb) and some of the things he did. Now, surely you can draw some distinct differences between what Cobb and some other HOF'ers have done and what Rose did, but you can't discount what Rose did on the field. 4,000+ hits is ridiculous. Let the man in.
  19. I wholeheartedly agree. I would love to see a situation where Riot moved to second. His sub-par arm and range at short would quickly change to being an average arm/range at second. Plus, forget how he compares to the rest of the league offensively - look how it would compare to what we've gotten from second base this year offensively. Second base has been by far (only the catchers spot really comes close) the worst producing position (not counting the pitchers spot) for us this year. Collectively, the second base position has hit: .226/.280/.314/.595 (BA/OBP/SLG/OPS). Theriot's .299/.353/.418/.771 would be an instant, major upgrade. Now, of course, this would certainly depend a lot on who we got to replace him at short.
  20. I wouldn't trust Gregg as much as Guzman and Marmol to get some of the outs that they have gotten. I still prefer them to be in the roles that they are in, but I have come to like Gregg a whole lot more than I did in April. At least with Guzman stepping up we can move Marmol into the closer role next season. Personally, I'd rather move Guzman there and keep Marmol in the 'flex' role or whatever you want to call it. There's still not a pitcher in baseball who, when he's on, can strike someone out at will like Marmol can. I think that talent could still be better used in situations when the bases are loaded with 1 out in the seventh, up by one or two runs.
  21. He certainly hasn't been the prettiest pitcher to watch and he has had his success against some pretty bad teams; but that said he's still pitched a couple of solid games against major league competition. Personally, I always really liked Hart when he was a reliever, so I'm glad to see him doing well. Also, while his WHIP is scary high, his BABIP is sitting at .280 as a starter this year. So it's not as though he's been relying on a ton of luck to record his outs. So that's at least good, I guess.
  22. for what it's worth, I saw berg throw a side session this morning and it was pretty awful. He couldnt find his release point to save his life and was throwing pitches all over the place. He threw really hard, but that's about the best I could save. Hopefully it was just nerves.
  23. Is this true? I didn't even notice. Good to know. I cant remember where I seen it, but Im pretty sure they have either played the easiest or one of the easiest schedules. I remember hearing that. But the thing is, after this tough stretch they're in - it doesnt really get too hard for them at the end of the year either.
  24. Vote #2 for marmol. He would either have me diving out of the batters box out of fear of being hit before that wicked slider broke or, he would actually hit me with a 95MPH fastball. Either way, I would never want to face him.
