  1. True. However, I still beleive Cpatt is right. Hendry is at his best when he is going out and "getting" someone. And not at his best when he is getting rid of someone. Getting: -Aram & Lofton for B.Hill & JoseK -Nomar & Murton for Agony & 2 Minor League Pitchers Getting Rid: - Sosa for Hairston & Fontenot (plus we payed 12 mil for sammy) - Farnsworth for Novoaa and...uhmm.. - Cruz for Anderson and Pratt There are negatives on both sides, like he got rid of hundley. But he got Macias*. But I think the information points to Hendry being better when he is going after his man. *Not that Macias was "his man" but, still. why would anyone get macias?
  2. Have you seen hendry lately? He'll be eating for a while. And let him continue, I really dont want Pierre. Abreu Please.
  3. it says the Marlins are looking for young pitching and these are five Cubs hurlers that might be had for trade. Not anywhere did it mention the Marlins are getting three of these guys let alone two. My bad. That was a guy who commented on the bottom.
  4. By the way, the site references Rotoworld and 670 the score. This is what rotoworld has to say: WSCR 670 in Chicago is reporting that the Cubs are close to acquiring Juan Pierre from the Marlins for three prospects. One would be left-hander Renyel Pinto. According to the report, center fielder Felix Pie wouldn't be involved. Another expendable reliever probably would be. Roberto Novoa or Jermaine Van Buren could help the Marlins
  5. I hope its not true. According to this site we'll be giving up three of these five pitchers. Jae-kuk Ryu Ricky Nolasco Sean Marshall Renyel Pinto Angel Guzman
  6. Wow, that was the most amazing post ever. HAHAHAHAH
  7. I cant beleive you think he did the right thing by throwing out 2 three year 10+ million dollar contracts to "good" releif pitchers but is quoted as saying he doesnt want to get into a bidding war for one of the best outfielders in the game, when RF is arguably our biggest hole. I agree we need pen help. And I'd even be content with signing Erye and Howry. Just not for that long, not for that much.
  8. I'd prefer losing Pinto over losing Marshall or Hill. I'd prefer not trading any of them for Pierre. In fact, I'd prefer not trading anyone for Pierre. Would you rather trade for Pierre at his salary for one year or overpay Furcal for multiple years? Where is the "Sign Giles, screw pierre and furcal" button?
  9. You know the drill. No voting unless you have read along w/ the 2006 thread.
  10. Allright, I'm gonna go throw up a Poll. Everyone go VOTE VOTE VOTE OR DIE!
  11. Losing pinto would kinda suck since I dont like Pierre that much. Thats all I have to add to this conversation.
  12. Jeez. 3 years 30 mil? If thats all its going to take (plus maybe a year and some dough to get him off the West Coast) then Hendry should be on his phone right now.
  13. You'd think I'd be excited that Hendry is going out and raping and pillaging the market of anything slightly valuble so early on. And really, Before the offseason started, I wouldnt really have been opposed to signing Erye and Howry. Its just that he is tossing out three year contracts left and right is a bit disturbing. As is the ammount of money, which I think coudl be better spent on Giles. But hey, at least we are making some noise.
  14. Haha, I'm an idiot. I just started another thread on this.
  15. Just reported on ABC7 News. Pending a physical. Boston sent "prospects" to florida.
  16. THat one will never get old. Ever.
  17. Does anybody have any opinons they'd like to share before I throw up the Bradley/Wilkerson/Pierre/Michaels thread?
  18. allright, before I get real worked up and start driving up to hendry's office. Is there any sign that this is even remotley true outside of two message boards?
  19. As did Nomar and Murton for Agonz and a couple of Minor League pitchers. As did Lofton and Aram for JosK and hill. All I'm saying is while the final product sounds farfetched, each induvidual part of it is reasonable.
  20. I dont know what Dontrelle's contract looks like. I'm assuming its still quite minute. If not, would he be available? I really doubt he is. Just wondering. Also, do they have any solid releivers? I dont really remember. Too bad they had to trade Mota...
  21. Still sounds smarter than the current org.
  22. If mark Cuban buys the cubs, I'll buy him dinner. Sounds like an even trade.
  23. Earlier today it was absoloutley crawling, and then just aobut half an hour ago it quit working. I and two other posters went over to Emergency NSBB w/ the same problem. It seems to be back to normal now, however.
  24. Depending on what we could do to take advantage of the Marlins fire sale (I really like Tim's idea about Castillo, Beckett and Lowell - I would spin Lowell and Walker over to the Twins for JC Romero), I wouldn't mind acquiring Padre Dave Roberts to man CF for one season. Hmm....Could you fill me in on tims idea? i kinda skimmed over it in the marlins firesale thread, but I'm not positive.
