Very true, but this isnt the first time we've heard that rumor. It seems like there may be something to it. I dont know if I understand it fully, as I havent taken the time to do more then skim a couple articles about it. But as I understand it, it has something to do with If they cannot get a new stadium deal to bring in new revenue, they may need to trade Willis/Cabrera to clear up some cash.

Well, I just got done watching Kerry Wood's 2003 NLCS homer, so i'm ready for some baseball!! In all honesty I expect a 85-90 win, second place finish, with the wildcard being a real possibility. However, since its opening day i'm hoping for a 100 win 1st place finish, and a world series ring. And in the spirit of opening day lets talk about all the good things I expect to be true, and all the good things I hope to be true... -I expect Kerry Wood back by mid-April, in his old dominant form -I expect Mark Prior back by The end of April, In dominant form -I expect Wood AND Prior to stay healthy the rest of the season -I expect Murton to continue producing in LF -I expect Cedeno to be solid at short -I expect Michael Barret will improve his pitch calling/defense -I expect Todd Walker to STAY on the team -I expect a GOOD year out of Pierre -I expect for Lee to be a stud yet again -I expect Marshall to thrive in a starters roll -I expect Z to be a god -I expect Dempster to continue his closing sucess -I expect our bullpen to be solid -I expect A wild card birth! -I hope We stay injury free from here on out -I hope Dusty sticks with murton/cedeno through the rough patches -I hope Williams can keep his era at 4 or lower -I hope Maddux can do the same, and not give up a bunch of HR -I hope Jock Jones can put up a .900 OPS (.850 would be good too) -I hope Aramis and Lee can make up for the mostly powerless outfield -I hope Murton continues to show his Power when hitting -I hope Dusty threw away his Dugout Dice© -I hope Neifi stays on the bench -I hope for a first place finish -I hope for a WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP.

Your kidding, right? It was painfully obvious we were out of contention at that point, last year. And so what if Woods arm couldn't be hurt "any further?" The fact was he needed surgery. Why not shut him down as soon as they found that out. The sooner he has surgery, the sooner he's throwing again. It was a stupid move, by a stupid organization. Furthermore if they were doing "all they could to make the playoffs," Jose Macias wouldn't have been on the team. Neifi wouldn't have been the starting Shortstop, There wouldn't have been a question this off season as to walkers return, and they would have at least TRIED to get Brian Giles. This team is under totally incoherent direction.

Zambrano's picture makes me giggle. Also, on a semi-related note. Do they tell these players to go out and get absolutely hammered before picture day? Because, my lord, at least 90% of the players look stoned/drunk every year. Also, i think there is a photographer conspiracy. They try to make the pictures look as ridiculous as possible.
