  1. Jeez, how many pitches does Z have, cant be more than 60.
  2. Okay, so i'm still wondering WTH happened. I dont know what you guys are talking about that Z pointed at anyone. I honestly didnt see it. All i saw was pierzynski cross the plate, do the kiss thing, and walk to the dugout. next thing I see is Ozzie going bazerk.
  3. The bad news; One of rusch/Williams/Hill will probably fill his spot. :(
  4. Oh My.... I.. ...but... why god?
  5. I remember when sosa hit one every nine at bats. Now we hit one every nine games. As a team.
  6. hahahhhahaha
  7. I wish there were more people on these boards willing to be reasonable in a situation like this. Good post. There is nothing "reasonable" about condoning or glorifying what Michael Barrett did. He cold-cocked and sucker-punch another human being....a cheap shot that was totally unwarranted. This is not the NHL; and, there is no room for the so-called "reasonable" and "wink-wink" condoning of this carp that you both exhibit. In other words, "BULL-oney!" Are you kidding me? I stated TWICE in that post that it was wrong and he should not have done it. I never condoned it. However, I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed watching AJP get punched. He's an ass, and has had that coming ever since he kicked his trainer or whoever that was in the crotch a few years back. Two wrongs may not make a right, but it makes for good TV if nothing else. As for "reasonable" he was complimenting the way i used *Gasp* REASON to think through the situation from both players points of view, not saying it was reasonable to punch him.
  8. I think Maddux could fill all the requirements of a good manager. From everything I've heard him say, he seems to be a great baseball mind. He, obviously, knows pitching inside and out. But also, you always hear about how he studies up on the guy he's going to face next time out, his strengths and weaknesses. I'm pretty sure he could handle the offense, as well: -I'm sure he could fill out a lineup card -He could do wonders for the pitchers and catchers -He most likely researches future opponents better than current cubs management (*coughremlingeragainstleftiescough*) -I bet he can orchestrate a proper double switch.
  9. Well, after having a night to sleep on it, and reading Barretts and AJP's take on the days events in the paper this morning, I have come to this conclusion. The collision at home was clean, AJP's elbow may have been up, but whatever, clean. The plate slap was still a reallyassholeish thing to do, but barrett didnt see it, so doesntlly doesnt matter as far as the brawl goes. AJP could have pretty easily went AROUND Barrett to get his helmet, instead of adding that little nudge. But he didnt, and Barrett Farnsworth'd him, and he shouldnt have, Barrett has said so himself. From AJP's point of view, I dont think he did too much wrong, the plate slap will stick out in my head as a pretty lame thign to do, reguardles of if barrett saw it or not. And he could have easily avoided that nudge. From Barretts point of view, I understand why he did it. He is laying on his back and he see's AJP coming towards him, and eventually nudge him. So he jacked him. Wrong, but i understand it. Now, aside from all "he shouldnt have done it" and "logic" aside.... I will never get tired of seeing that prick get punched in the face. And Just for entertainment purpouses, I wish Barrett wouldn't have been held back by that ump, Podsednik would have gotten leveled.
  10. They just showed the replay on fox, again. And aside from teh plate slap, and the initial play, AJP also leaned way into barrett when barret was trying to stand up, which doesnt make sense, because AJ's dugout is down the third base line, he was leaning towards first, or more specifically, into barrett. AJ is an ass. Barrett shouldnt have punched him, but i'm sure glad he did.
  11. Let me preface this saying I know it would never happen, however.. I dont know how he would do, or what his skills are. But I do know everyone on that team respects him highly, and he is a very smart player. I'd bet he could do a helluva lot better than Baker. Thoughts?
  12. Here are my thoughts on the fight, as posted in the game thread: -AJP is an ass. -There is no way AJP could have know wher that ball was at -He should NOT have plowed into barrett the way he did--thats something you do when the catcher has the ball in his hands. And afterwards, you act like a grown up, and dont slap the plate. -AJP is an ass for slapping the plate the way he did -Barrett is now my hero for jacking that prick in the face -Barrett probably shouldnt have punched him and will now pay the price (5-10 games?) -I am really not looking forward to the next 5-10 games w/out barrett -I am REALLY not looking forward to all the bandwagon Sox fans at school on monday "D00D AJP IS A GRATE GUY WOO DIDINT DU NOTHIN RONG! HI WAZ PLAING HARD BAEZBOL! AND BARRET TOTALLY GOT HIZ AZZ KICKED!!! LOL!" -It makes me smile that the cubs, if nothing else, are good fighters. Farnz owned Wilson. Barrett Owned AJP and whoever that was on deck. Neither Farns or Barrett took a shot.
  13. Well, basically... The bases were loaded, AJP at third, Barrett catching. Sac fly to left, murton throws home. The ball was still bouncing down the third base line and AJP absouloutley PLOWED into barrett, elbows up. Uncalled for. Then after that he turned arouned and SLAPPED the plate real hard, just being an ass. So as he walks away barrett stood up and grabbed him, and said something ot him, then JACKED him square in the jaw. Then turned and did the same to whoever wsa on deck, who of course came running to the plate. THen the ump pulled barrett back onto his back and a huge brawl erupted Mabry and Anderson got into a little cat fight and they got ejected as well. Hil was terrible.
  14. Well, i'm coming in a bit late on the fight discussion, but this is my take: -AJP is an ass. Barrett Owned AJP and whoever that was on deck. Neither Farns or Barrett took a shot. -The cubs REALLY freakin suck. SCORE YOU LOSERS.
