  1. Roast

    Week 11

Drew Brees threw for 510 yards. HOLY CRAP.
  2. Player options, of course. Eh. I understand people are all "outraged" that we spent so much money for such a long time. But, the way I see it: Yeah, its a poor contract. But Hendry and the cubs organization are proving they want to win. They are proving they are actually, for the first time since i've been a fan, willing to go out and shell out cash for a good player. Dedication doesn't make up for stupidity True. But i'd rather see him be stupid with Soriano then stupid with neifi/jones.

  4. Interesting. Maybe a Jones and others trade to Boston for Manny? With the 40 man roster squeeze coming tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised to see a multi player trade go down today or tomorrow Ohhh, good call. Izturis + Jones + ? for manny?
  5. Yeah, when it comes out i bet its 5 years with 3 option years. I'd be more than fine with that.
  6. starting to feel better...regaining optimism. I'd love that... But espn already announced it at 8/136...I bet Kaplan is wrong.
  7. I think that's what it took to get him to sign, you have to go the extra yard if you want the big signing IMO. Exactly. I'd like to see how this deal is structured. I wonder if we still have the money to get drew? If not, then maybe we trade for ManRam?
  8. I agree it's nice to see Hendry make the leap I just wish he did it off a different cliff. I dont mind even that its off this cliff. I like Soriano, I just wish it was a little shorter cliff...like of the 5 year variety. But hell, i'll take it.
  9. 8 Years, 136 Million Yikes. I cant lie, I'm happy. I'm really pumped that Hendry showed that he was committed to signing a big name for once.
  10. Roasts thoughts: -I am pleased. I love the fact that Hendry grew a pair and went out and finally paid for a big name FA for the first time in forever (or, ever). -8 years? WTH?
  11. Roast

    Week 11

Bree's has already thrwon for 282 yards, however somebody must have told him that once you get into the red zone you're supposed to throw to the other team. He's done that twice.
  12. Roast

    Week 11

Yah, I picked a bad week to play a good team.
  13. Dorines Pizza rocks the world. Its a small company from around this area, but they are amazing. Their Jalepeno pizza is responsible for 3/4 of the time i spend smiling.
  14. No, no we couldn't. I disagree. I think we could. What happened to Rich Hill? Tragic chainsaw juggling accident. Dont say that too loud. Seriously though, it was a lapse of the mind. Edit my comment to read: We could get by having a rotation of Z, Prior, Hill, Miller, Marshall/Marmol. this scenero tragically brings to mind the phrase "if they're healthy"I'm trying not to think about that...

  17. good. i would much rather have 4 years of drew than 5-6 of soriano. I dont see why everyone thinks we can only have one or the other. With a $115 Million payroll, there is no reason we cant have both. We can, but that would leave us only about 5 million for pitching to try to fill 2 spots. If we got both Soriano and Drew, and added them into the lineup with guys like Ramirez and Lee, we could live with having a rotation of Z, Prior, Miller, Marshall, Marmol/whatever other minor leaguer you want.

  19. Wowza, thats alot of money. 5/70 6/84. Ouch. That being said; I'd do it.
  20. Both. I love my two cats. However, I used to have a dog, and he was amazing also. AND I used to have a cat that acted like a dog. This thing was huge, I watched it chase a full grown black lab out of my yard one time. I laughed; hard.
  21. And there is NOTHING better than Roast... Anyway, I'm all for overpaying for Alfonzo. AND Drew. The way I see it; its either overpay for Soriano and/or Drew, or overpay for another Jones type player.
  22. Pepsi. Coke is like drinking syrup, imo. Also, Mt. Dew (My favorite pop evereverever) is made by Pepsi, so they win.
  23. I always really liked this guy.
