  1. Jesus, 302 feet. Wow. EDIT: Is joe morgan drunk?
  2. Wow. Didn't think it would happen.
  3. Did he seriously just praise Beckett for his "great" defensive play in which he threw the ball directly into the dirt?
  4. Koufax and Marichal? Don't know if I'd go that far.
  5. Yeah, that takes up too much room on one corner. I don't understand why they went away from the narrow bar across the top of the screen. Seems like the perfect use of space to me. There's very little important that takes place that high up on the screen and it doesn't draw too much attention.
  6. Wow. Nice inning for beckett
  7. I hate ESPN's new ball/strike/out counter.
  8. That little "opening day" poem they had just now was badass.
  9. Dusty Baker is going to make sure to play Tyler Colvin quite a bit this year. Interesting insight, ESPN.
  10. Yay! I mentioned it in the other thread but I'm probably going to miss the vast majority of the game. May get to see the last inning or two if I'm lucky. Either way, go Cubs!
  11. I'm thinking short ass interview Won't matter. Game starts at 3. I'll have to leave by 3:30 at the absolute latest to even get to this guy's place in time. Even if I squeeze everything into a half hour i'll be leaving at 4:30, getting home around 5. If I'm lucky I'll see the first inning and maybe the last 2 innings. I'd be cool with a 3 hour rain delay, though.
  12. Also, I'm going to miss the majority of the Cubs opener because I have to go interview some guy at 4 o'clock. I'm [expletive] livid
  13. Haters. It's baseball. I'll be watching.
  14. Castro with a double now. Dude is fast.
  15. wow, Castro worked the count to 3-0, then on a 3-1 pitch he freaking smashed one about 400 ft into center for a triple.
  16. To brewers fans it is. Going to a brewers game in recent years...it's definitely turned into a big rivalry. Especially in their minds.
  17. People are always like that -- like celebrities who start charities for weird diseases because their kid/mom/dad/friend is affected Yeah, like Derrek Lee. Major tool, definitely an overreaction on his part.
  18. yeah this was pretty hilarious, you know, now that I know she's alright. As for the netting, it might take away from the game a little bit but I do think it needs to be extended out further. At least to the dugout (that'd only be another few feet anyway) if not at least half-way through the dugout. Some of those line drives come in there so fast it doesn't matter if you're paying attention or not. Particularly if you don't have the best reflexes.
  19. Haha. Indiana pride!
  20. In a 10-team league I'm sure there's GOT to be something better available on waivers than Harang and Peralta. You're probably going to want someone else to throw in that Utility spot just in case Berkman isn't ready for opening day, too. Unless you plan on putting Vlad there.
  21. Here's mine. It's a 10 team league so most people have stacked rosters but whatever. Anyway, stats are as follows: R/H/HR/RBI/SB/AVG/OBP and W/Sv/K/Hld/ERA/WHIP/K9 My team: C Kurt Suzuki 1B Kendry Morales 2B Ben Zobrist 3B Jorge Cantú SS Hanley Ramírez OF Grady Sizemore OF Bobby Abreu OF Adam Dunn Util Derrek Lee BN Chipper Jones BN Bengie Molina BN Martín Prado SP Roy Halladay SP Justin Verlander SP Dan Haren SP Jair Jurrjens RP Mariano Rivera RP David Aardsma RP Jeremy Affeldt P J.A. Happ P Bronson Arroyo BN Stephen Strasburg (Figured my pitching is plenty strong that I could stash him until he comes up) BN Jorge De La Rosa BN Phil Hughes My thoughts: Even for a 10-team league I feel like this team is stacked. My weakest stats is probably Holds, but I'm not super worried about that. I know catcher and maybe 3b are the weakest spots on my offense but a guy in my league got sucked into the auto-draft hell when his computer froze for a couple rounds so he's offered me a Halladay for Longoria/Randy Wells trade. I did it and it's just waiting league approval. I figure my SP is plenty strong enough to survive w/out Halladay and having longoria will allow me to try and trade Cantu/Chipper for an upgrade at catcher. Your thoughts?
