    what does that mean? does the ball fly farther or shorter with it closed? Ball carries more with the roof open since it is hot here. It won't carry much with it closed, so it helps Davis out since he's a flyball pitcherSo is lilly.

    About what are you expressing incredulity? I just think this is making something out of completely nothing. Webb is one of the best pitchers in the league and whooped up on us. Period. Very possibly. But there was OBVIOUSLY something on his hat. In all likely hood it's just a dirty spot from putting his hand there constantly. But, regardless, there was some sort of discoloration there. And it's true, he DID go to that spot on his hat before some of his pitches. Again, the fact that he is going to his hat so often could be what caused the discoloration in the first place, but we dont know that. Nobody here is accusing him of most definitely cheating. We're just saying that we saw something on his hat that he went to on occasion. Couldn't he have just been adjusting his hat? Players are always fidgeting with their hats and uniforms (Zambrano). Yeah, that's what I was getting at with the second part of that statement. I brought it up earlier in this thread, too, I think. Chances are it's just one of his pre-pitch twitches. Z grabs his junk, Webb messes with his cap. But after seeing Rogers/Tavarez have done in the past (and apparently that rockies pitcher yesterday?), it's not unreasonable to think there was something up. Or at least ask questions about it.

    Yeah, last night when I went to bed I was in a level of pissed off I haven't been in a very long time. It took everything I had not to put a hole in my wall. Today i woke up early to go to class, then went for a 3 hour work. Now I'm fairly calm thanks to some music. Come 7 o clock or so i'm sure nothing short of a gallon of hard liquor will take the nerves away.

    Alright, so I just took about a 3 hour walk down the lakefront and back. I'm much more calm now than I was earlier. GO CUBS.

    Soriano's a horrible contact hitter. Plus Z had just hit a double in his last at bat and looked like he was fairly comfortable in the process. That is, it wasnt some awkward swing that somehow made contact and by pure luck dumped the ball into a gap.
