  1. You're in Fantasy Land (a.k.a College) and you don't have time to read 24 pages? show me where I said I didn't have time. I just don't have the desire.
  2. right now it sounds like they are waiting on Angelos to approve a deal. None of the names are 100% but Levine was quoted as saying Cedeno was part of it, along with a pitcher and perhaps an OF. Any ideas as to who the OF might be? I would say someone like Fuld but apparently he's "untouchable." Oh, and what are the chances of Angelos approving this deal? Didn't he turn down a deal involving Roberts at the last winter meeting?
  3. So, I read the original rumor and the posts up to about page 5. But now we're on 29 and I'm not reading 24 pages. Does someone want to give me a quick summary of where things stand, now?
  4. Modern Day Babe Ruth? Well, except Ruth pitched better. And had a far more awesome diet and off-the-field schedule.
  5. Hahahha I never seen that from T.O before...what game was that? That guy is freakin ripped..You can see his muscle in that one.. That was the packers game on thursday
  6. Feel free to point out where I've stepped out of line. How 'bout the original attack aimed at OMC that had absolutely zero valuable feedback to the thread.
  7. 1. Babe Ruth 2. Ted Williams 3. Barry Bonds 4. Honus Wagner 5. Willie Mays 6. Hank Aaron 7. Josh Gibson 8. Cy Young 9. Lou Gehrig 10. Joe DiMaggio 11. Rickey Henderson 12. Roger "The Rocket" Clemens 13. Alex Rodriguez 14. Sandy Koufax 15. Jimmie Foxx 16. Ty Cobb It's a crime that he's that low.
  8.   I love Pure Evil version of IMB  That's hilarious.
  9. Did hendry HONESTLY say that it would be easier if he were right handed or is that just a rotoworld smartass answer? Because if he really said that then I vote we burn him at the stake. Literally.
  10. So you say our biggest needs are: Leadoff hitter 2nd Hitter Power lefty? Jim Hendry, is that you? And about your power lefty - Explain to me this. How would a "power lefty" help the fact that one of our biggest offensive faults last year was the inability to hit left handed pitchers - something Left handed batters are notoriously not great at doing. I don't know why everyone keeps saying this. Sure the Cubs sucked vs. LH starters, but they don't see enough of them to be overly concerned with that. FYI, Cubs OPS vs RHPs .754.....Cubs OPS vs. LHPs .755. 8th vs. RHPs, 11th vs. LHPs. The Cubs had about 3000 fewer ABs vs. LHPs. The Cubs need to get better at hitting baseballs, no matter what hand they are thrown by. Fair enough, and I can agree with that last statement. And as far as that goes I think you can just as easily say we need to get better at hitting the ball regardless of what side of the plate it's from. I still dont think it's smart to waste our time searching for a "lefty power hitter." We need someone who can get on base and hit for power. Period. I dont care if he hits left or right.

  12. I still don't understand why people are so worried about Pie; the guy has absolutely tore up every level he's been at. Hell, after we called him up he even had a solid two week stretch before going into a little slump and then getting benched. No player, or rather very few of them, come straight up from the minors and start Pujols-ing right away. He's young - he's going to have some growing pains, but he hasn't showed any reason yet as to why he won't be a solid starter. What he did at the major league level is something he did at every level he was placed at. He struggled for a little while. The difference is at the other levels he wasn't benched, he played through it and each time he ended up tearing it up. Just let the kid play.
  13. Can't Chone play SS? If so he's FAR better than Theriot. Like Mizzou, I've always really liked Chone. He fits Hendry's desire for being fast and having the ability to hit lefty - but the difference is; He's actually good!
  14.
  15. Not sure. Looking at what the Dodgers and Angels have said in regards to negotiations, I could see the Marlins wanting Pie, Soto, Murton, and Gallagher. They might prefer Marmol to one of those. Yikes. If you can get them to replace soto with Marmol i might do it. otherwise, no. It leaves us with more holes than it fills, then. Maybe. If they also signed Fukudome, he plays CF while Cabrera & Soriano cover LF/RF...however it gets ironed. Quite frankly, I'll live with Cabrera in the OF with his bat doing the damage that it does, especially since he said he'd play wherever his new team waned him. Make sure he hits the treadmill and start crushing. That's true. I didn't think about Fukudome. The thought of his fat arse in right field scares me, but his bat would certainly make up for it. So I might just do that deal. If nothing else, our lineup would be sick. Soriano Fukudome Lee Ramirez Cabrera Soto DeRosa Theriot? Something like that. Cabrera + Fukudome = Way over budget. YOu realize cabrera only made just over 7 million last year, right?

  18. I have no idea what they want/need. Can we fill their request?
  19. Bingo How does this NOT qualify as a rumor? Bruce miles speculated that Roberts could be available. A rumor is defined as "a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts." That's exactly what this is. A statement made without certainty, as can be seen by the "MAY be available" part of his statement. This is a rumor - people are just getting picky. Levine, not Miles. I knew that. IDK why i said miles.
  20. Baseball is like a democracy. The yankees are the democrats and the redsox are the republicans. NObody else has much of a chance.
  21. Eww. That could be one freaking shut-down rotation. Or two-fifths of it could be hurt for most of the year. Well, that too.
