    I think derwood was pretty dead on, this isn't a huge surprise. All the sudden a bus full of millionaires pulls into town - there's going to be some people who want in on that.

    I can imagine your response... "And together, we're 50% of you, playa!" Nah, big nate is a big dude(the name gives it away). I think the comment was actually directed at him since afterwards he tried to convince my friend to join the matadors. haha.

    +11ty billion. I really don't think it's that big of a stretch, i wish someone in the org would pick up on it. Lee gets on base at a monster rate (.400 obp last year) and his power, which was a big reason why he fit very well in the 3 hole, is now much diminished (maybe it will come back, maybe it wont). So why not just stick him in the 2 spot where a player with a huge obp and moderate power belongs?

    Yeah I wrote about this on my blog the other day. He just doesn't have a position and I think we've found out he's not the best bench player - he tends to do better when he gets consistent at bats, which as you alluded to he's not going to get here. If we're not going to get any use out of him we need to trade him and at least get something - and give the poor guy a chance to start somewhere else.

    As to why delwyn...yes - yes, he got drafted for me after I left. Also, my first pick was seizmore,2nd Webb, and from there it all went to hell. People were picking players way out of order. I got both Bay and Buehrle relatively late. So whatever, we'll see what turns out of this. And yeah, no hitters and grand slams are the dumbest stats I've ever seen for fantasy ball.

    Oh, and on topic - I don't care. Dozens of people are shot every day across the country (and state) and no one puts patches on their hats for them. So it was more concentrated this time...okay. It was terrible what happened at NIU, don't get me wrong. But - the Cubs have no obligation. Furthermore some "token gesture" made in Mesa wouldn't mean much anyway.

    That time of year again. Anyway, I joined a 20-team Yahoo public league just for the hell of it and the commish has some really ridiculous stats but oh well. Here's my team as it stands now. I left after about 20 rounds because it was moving so slow and just add/dropped some after the draft ended on some of the bench players. But here we go: Stats: Offensive- H/ab, R, H, HR, RBI, SB, Avg, slg, Grand Slams (wtf) Pitching- IP, W, Complete Games, Shutouts, SV, Outs, K, ERA, Whip, No Hitters (really..wtf?) C Geovany Soto 1B Casey Blake 2B Robinson Canó 3B Akinori Iwamura SS J.J. Hardy IF Melvin Mora LF Jason Bay CF Grady Sizemore RF Kosuke Fukudome OF Bill Hall Util Delwyn Young BN Félix Pié BN Matt Stairs BN Eric Bruntlett BN Cliff Floyd BN Miguel Olivo SP Brandon Webb SP Francisco Liriano RP Matt Capps RP Bob Howry P Mark Buehrle BN Hiroki Kuroda BN Homer Bailey BN Jason Marquis BN Liván Hernández BN Chad Gaudin Overall I'm moderatly pleased. I'm not very happy with my 1b/3b and I'm really relying on some good seasons from Fukudome, Soto, and Young - all of which are probable to be good but really no one knows yet. So...We'll see. Overall it's not bad for a 20 team league, imo.

    Do you guys know if it's possible to change your order from "mail" to "Will Call?" Cause i clicked mail and unfortunately i totally forgot to change my options so they're being mailed to my house and not my dorm. If anyone knows how to do this plz tell me.

    I don't have a problem with buying tickets to sell on eBay... heck, I've done it in the past.. free market capitalism at its finest. But common courtesy should be not to brag about getting tickets to sell while others here are wanting to get tickets so they can go themselves or maybe even take their familites to a game and are unable to get through. Fair enough. My apologies.

    Finally, some luck. 2 tickets to August 8th v. StL Off to Ebay with you Also, do you guys remember when they mail out tickets? If I was smart I woulda picked will-call but i forgot.

    wow i'm having minimal luck. by this time last year I had gotten great tickets to two games and given up for the day already.
