  1. It's not luck; that's grit. Can't be, it goes in the book as a CS - CS is the enemy of the grit.
  2. Wow, thank god bautista didn't hold on to that. Theriot must have gritted it out.
  3. that doesnt even make any sense yeah it does
  4. Yeah, this could easily be like 7-2 right now.
  5. Agreed. We gave him an extended look last year and he sucked then, so this isn't necessarily a sample size issue. You can't play the young guys just for the sake of playing them, they have to at least show something out there. That's coming off incredibly Dustyish, I imagine. 200 ABs is "an extended look?" Good thing the Cubs didn't have ARod, because his .225/.259/.330 in his first 200 ABs would have gotten him released. No kidding. Not to mention those 200 at bats came really spread out Was Lou his manager at that time? Uh, yes?
  6. Yeah, why give a young player a chance to learn from his mistakes. Yeah, who cares about improving your chances of winning. Reed Johnson really gave us something that Pie couldn't have right there. Besides, it's april and we're facing matt morris - what better time to let someone who is supposed to be our top prospect play? If people aren't ever willing to let a young guy play through his struggles, well, then it's no wonder we rarely ever have a decent position player prospect.

  10. Rich, You're still supposed to be throwing strikes Kthanks, Your friends at NSBB
  11. Am I the only one who thinks the 42 thing is kind of stupid? Nope. What's stupid about it? What's the point of retiring a number in the first place if you're going to let it be worn again every year? I think there's a difference from players wearing it every day and one day of the year a large portion of the league donning the number in honor of him. I think it's cool. Plus, it makes Lee wear high socks.
