  1. Well, that worked out a little bit better than Heyward I guess.
  2. Uh, most definitely not. A man on third would not score on a hard hit ball to the third basemen. I don't think you can definitely say he would or wouldn't. If he's going on contact and the 3rd baseman is playing back he probably would score. Even with the ball hit hard, if the 3rd baseman is playing back his mindset is to get the out at third, not at home. I can say with almost 100% certainty that he wouldn't have scored. That ball was hit pretty hard and even if he was going on contact, which would have been kind of silly in the first place, he would have been thrown out.
  3. My god, the camera work has been awful. Zoom out a bit so you can see the outfielders running after the damn ball.

  5. Eh, he thought it was gone. It really looked like it was.
  6. Doesn't make sense considering they haven't worn it at all since the 15th and now today they randomly are again? I don't get it. A 1-day tribute is great, but anything more than that is just annoying. I can't wait for a basketball game where every player is wearing #23. If you're not listening to this awful broadcast, it's because the Mets were on the road for JR day, so they wanted to have one at home. Also, Aaron Boone should shut up forever.
  7. Oh my god this broadcast is awful. "He's got a bulldog mentality" "He's a ballplayer" Ugh.
  8. Look at the Mets owners up there talking about all those silly poor people down in the grandstands.
  9. Yeah, this booth is going to make me want to strangle myself.

  11. Hot damn, I can actually watch the game tonight. It's not blacked out for some reason. Also, why the hell are they wearing 42 again?
  12. Damnit. Unless I get lucky and ESPN isn't blacked out, i dont get to watch. EDIT: And a big WTF on that lineup. I like moving theriot down, but Byrd leading off? Ramirez fifth? Okay.
  13. Yeah, let's not suck at baseball anymore please. Winning > losing.
  14. Awesome. Good for him (and my fantasy team)
  15. ...by Jay-Z. Apparently Ortiz opened up a "Forty-Forty" club in the Dominican Republic. Jay-Z and his business partner are suing him because they think it's a bit to close to their "40/40" club that has been around for some time. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/East-Coast-rivalry-Jay-Z-sues-David-Ortiz-over-?urn=mlb,234589
  16. I actually heard him say this LAST year on BBTN. But yeah, this thread is awesome.
  17. Sadly there's a large portion of the sox fan-base that eats his crap up. I wouldn't say it's a majority, necessarily, but a big enough portion that they probably aren't going to dump him one would think.
  18. That wasn't a freaking striek earlier damnit
