I don't know how his communication skills are, but hiring the best hitter the game has ever seen is probably a good idea. BUT HE CHEATED!!111!!!11ONE. If he can communicate his talents appropriately then he would definitely be worthwhile. However, one of the things that made him so great was his incredible strike zone knowledge, and then the amazing ability to actually deliver on the one decent pitch he saw. I don't know if that's something you can teach. Worth a shot, though.
