  2. That's why I'm hoping for either a brewers win or a really long game.
  3. I'm really pumped for today. GO CUBS. Clinch this [expletive].
  4. Hey, if the grounds crew gets to sing the stretch on Sunday, why not the ushers? Go plead your case, man. Haha, well it still wouldn't help cause I'm not an usher  But anyway, there is some stuff going on for us, too. The Crowd Control, Usher, Supervisor, and Rookie of the year have some kind of on-field presentation. Unfortunately I didn't get that...but, meh. Whatcha gonna do.
  5. "By pitching the first no-hitter at a neutral site, single handedly created yet another useless baseball stat" haha
  6. I'll be there - working. And hopefully on the field (plz God?). I'm pumped for tomorrow.
  7. ZOMG! A BAD START. okay I'm done.
  8. That stupid monday-night game where both offenses just marched down the field did me in.
  9. I play everyone until they clinch. At which point I begin giving guys regular rest - especially soto.
  10. Well, here we go. I set it up when I started the thread but the homestand starts tomorrow and there is no reason why we shouldn't clinch this homestand. I really hope we do it at home. And not only because I'll be there to see it. okay, it's mostly that.
  11. If they take 2/3 from Mil there's almost no way they don't.
  12. I expect lots of pictures.
  13. Yeah, I still predict it either friday or Saturday.
  14. Well, The first part of my hypothetical came true. If the cubs win tomorrow then a sweep of the brewers clinches it.
  15. I want to say 8 because the Phillies have won the last two games and it shouldn't have changed - though I could be wrong.
  16. #-o Forgot all about that. So yeah, if all things fall into place, we could realistically clinch on Thursday. Which would rock.
  17. So the cubs start a new homestand Tuesday and if a couple of things fall our way, we could very realistically clinch the division at home during the next week. Going into tonight's game the cubs magic number currently stands at 9. If the cubs can win tonight and the Brewers lose their second game against philly our magic number will stand at 7 going into the homestand. We open the homestand against the brewers, so every game we win that series counts as two. Therefore, if we take 2/3 in that series the magic number will drop to 3. Meaning if we sweep st Louis, no matter what Milwaukee does we will have the division clinched by Sunday the 21st. If we can sweep the brewers (assuming a cubs win and a brewers loss tonight) the magic number would be 1. Setting us up for a clincher Friday afternoon against St. Louis. Clearly, there's a whole lot of "if"s in this scenario, but it's very possible we could clinch this week. Awesome.
  18. Or Cardinal fans.So...Idiots.
  19. I actually don't have a problem with that. Maybe it will urge more people to get the hell out of there.
  20. Wrongo He does NOT get free tickets to every game. The tickets he gets are from other fans. He is a giant pain in the butt. Plus he's a prick to everyone who works there. Yes. He gets free tickets from other fans. Fair enough. I was assuming he thought the cubs gave him free tickets as that seems to be the common misconception among cubs fans i talk to at games.

  22. So...I just watched the Lilly collision at Home plate and...wow. lilly's a hardass, he didnt even flinch. Just stood up and walked away.
  23. Yeah, because something that happened five years ago and a single at bat from this season totally prove...well...anything.
