Two funny female Hawk fans incidents on CSN..after Game 4 there was a really drunk blonde woman wearing a black and white outfit. She was right behind the CSN postgame crew and was swaying back and forth. She looked like she wanted to say something or throw up before she passed out. After Game 6, there was another blonde wearing a red dress and also what looked like a miner's helmet with a flashing light on the top. She did this little dance to the camera making a heart shape with her hands and pointing at the camera and then herself. I'm thinking she had performing experience of a different sort.
If he retired today I think he's in the HOF. I think you're right. Toews does so many things so well. A classic play for me was in Game 3 when Keith was chasing a puck and here comes Toews going full speed and zips right by him to get the puck. The guy is a great skater. This is a great team to watch and I see our Cubs developing the same 'team' personality. Almost every Hawk has contributed big time. FYI-The really cool Blackhawks grey hoodies the players wear during interviews are called 'media hoodies', Available only at the new Blackhawk store on North Michigan. Went to Wrigleyville Sports first but they don't carry them.
Not surprised the usual fanboys weren't paying attention. "We don't do that here." http://www.csnchicago.com/cubs/cubs-joe-maddon-doesn%E2%80%99t-junior-lake%E2%80%99s-%E2%80%98punk%E2%80%99-move
Last night's stroll around the bases by Castro on his HR demonstrates that he still doesn't get it. His problem is still lack of concentration, whether it's in the field, running the bases or at the plate. 12 errors already in 2 months. Joe isn't going to slam him, because it would hurt his trade value. But how many managers and coaches are we going to go thru before we stop pandering to him? They'll trade him when a 2-3 SP in available, but Castro hasn't changed his attitude and his production has dropped.
I heard a discussion over the week-end that Ruben Amaro is telling teams that you must take Ryan Howard along with Hamels. He needs to get out from under the contracts. Theo won't do that and I don't know many teams that will. And why would you deal Castro now when he's struggling at the plate? I do think they'll trade him for a #2-3 SP but it's still early and other teams aren't ready to do a white flag trade.
It's surprising that Hawk has turned into a cranky lapdog for Reinsdorf, because as a player he was a rebel and epitomized 'cool' in the 60's. He was pals with Joe Namath and Derek Sanderson(Bruins) and had ownership in a pretty hot nightclub. He had a mind of his own and wasn't opposed to do crazy stuff. Had a good year in 1968.
Consider the source. Miklasz is a windsock who has very little to write about these days. The Rams are leaving for LA, the Blues don't play hockey beyond April and the NBA moved out in the '60's. The Cards GM took a chance by dealing from strength for an OF with some pop. The Cards have little power with Holliday on the decline, Adams has struggled and Molina hasn't hit a HR in almost a year. Heyward has under-performed for sure and that really hurts them going forward. I always wonder what they see in John Jay in CF.
You should have killed him on the spot. Marlins guy was at the Preakness(at the finish line) on Sat. and behind home plate last night @ the Cardinals game. He tried to stay in the front row(when the ticketholder got up and briefly left), then security moved him out. He moved to a 3rd row seat, but still within the camera angle. Now if this was Morganna the Kissing Bandit I wouldn't mind, but he's not. this is such a weird thing to say even as a joke and i say that having said i wanted that annoying white guy on the cavs to be harmed the other day David-Don't know if you remember the rainbow hair guy and his John: 3:16 sign, who somehow found tix to do the same thing back in the day. He was equally annoying. I can understand if you're a die-hard for your team and are watching your team. But that's not the case here and he's just a publicity whore. Much like that couple that kept crashing parties, even the White House and saw nothing wrong with it. They should be punished by being forced to watch Marlins home games from the front row.

Even though no one will confuse Rizzo with Rickey Henderson, he does have 7 SB already. Pretty good for someone with average speed. I mention this because the White Sox made a big deal during spring training about having Vince Coleman in camp to teach the Sox better base stealing skills. So far, they have...4 SB for the year. Looks like that didn't work out so well.
Oh great. There's that damn Marlins fan who spent thousands to sit behind home plate at the World Series in KC and SF. He's sitting in the 2nd row behind home plate, wearing that crappy orange Marlins jersey and hat. Stop leaning over into the aisle. We see you. Theo's sitting next to former MLB catcher and All-Star Ted Simmons.
I'm seeing Dave Kingman revisited at the plate. Exceptional power, strike outs a lot and big swing. I can live with 40+ HR and .280. But he does have a good idea of the strike zone. Kong would hack at nearly everything. Always remember the HR Kingman hit over Waveland to around the 3rd house on a bounce.
I'll dispute #3, as that would exclude Babe Ruth. Since uniform #'s did not happen until 1929, the Babe's career had peaked by then. Also no one would say Albert Pujols is even in the same conversation as Joe DiMaggio#5.
I can remember when DePaul was a destination under Ray Meyer, but sadly those days are long gone. WGN-TV used to carry games. Since it's a stepping stone job for some young up and coming coach I would think someone like Bobby Hurley would be a good fit. But if he's good, he won't be here for years. I am under the impression there's a lot of administration involvement and the powers don't want to give it up. With the new 10,000 seat arena, you gotta win to fill the seats.
That's asking a lot (and it doesn't need to be that high) I think they went into ST with the microscope on Olt's hitting and recovery from the eye injury. He's doing better than last year, but still has a ways to go. I thought I read a scouting report somewhere which said because of KB's height, there was the potential for back problems down the line. Not ruling out he winds up at 3rd, but Olt gives you a real chance at 80HR from 3rd and LF. How great would that be?
