  1. This is a joke. The presser after the game needs to be about these stupid double switches.
  2. its only the 6 inning. no business double switching.
  3. The same Larussa who thought Juan Encarnacion hitting 2nd was a good idea? His thought is put him in the 2 hole to give him better pitches with Pujols/Edmonds/Rolen and make him better than what he is. Mabry makes Aramis worse.
  4. TLR probably laughed his ass off when he saw mabry bat 5.
  5. Wouldnt have pitched that way if walker didnt get out.
  6. Rusch has got to go deep in the game today. The bullpen got totally taxed yesterday. This staff needs to start going deep in the game more consitantly or they will be doomed. If Rusch gets beat up early he is going to be in for a looong day. He wont pitch anything less than 5IP today. Dusty will show no mercy because he cant.
  7. Did Ron go into specifics about what Gene and Gary said to Matt? Because if all Ron reported is the general statement you have written above, that Murton is too patient and needs to be more aggressive, the conclusions that can be drawn from that are few and far between. Were they referring to every situation? If so, then the comments you have made are somewhat justified. But if they were referring to only certain situations, then I would say you have jumped the gun with your criticism. Unfortunately, without more specific information on what the coaching actually was, any comment in support of or being critical of their coaching requires a rather large assumption and becomes pointless. Yea I would definately like to hear the context. Certain situations might call for a more agressive approach. I cant recall a specific time but maybe u gotta sometimes take a chance if it means a run. Right now at this point in the season if u miss o well. If you have a chance to make a difference without being TOO agressive take it. Especially for a young guy like Murt he should figure out what he can hit for when its important down the run. I know this goes against what I said before what sometimes agressive might pay off. Matt should figure out now between when and when not to be agressive. The comment didnt get into specific situations, it was generally natured. Ive seen Murton a couple times take pitches he probably should of taken a swing on but it doesnt happen enough to change his approach yet. I think this advice could be directed better at Angel Pagan than Murton. Pagan walks a fair amount(minors) but ks too much. When he gets behind the count he's not as consistant as Murton is in putting the ball in play by evidence of the BB/K ratio comparison. Also if you add in Pagan's speed to beat out ground balls he should be the one more aggressive earlier in the count, not Murton.
  8. 6'1 195. A typical 2b in mlb so i chose that. After seeing how little this team is I would look like Derrek Lee over there. I take one for the team and move behind the plate. Ive got a good enough arm to throw short distances, my shoulder is wrecked but i can get from home to second no problem. I can hit for decent enough XBH power and hit to all fields to move the runners over. An offensive first catcher. I wont block anything in the dirt, ill be a defensive project like Michael Barrett and subplant his spot as the worst catcher ever.
  9. I can see that side of the story but Murton at the same time has a very good BB/K ratio. He can hit if he gets behind in the count.
  10. Kauffman is Bo Derek of baseball stadiums.
  11. Ah hell yeah. Im not a bling man but im buying all that WS garbage when they win. On the days i dont feel like wearing it ill have my girl put it on her neckless like old times.
  12. Under his arm, thats weird.
  13. Pujols had problems with Aardsma's fastball. Good sign. :)
  14. Aardsma has good fastball. Could use a little more control, i know he's walked 3 batters in majors but im not sure if i would say he's wild yet. The knuckle curve is a good pitch. I dont know if he throws them for strikes though. Its a good out pitch but he needs to throw them for more strikes frequently. This is my 1 inning assessment. haha.
  15. Rolen kinda slings his throws but damn hes good.
  16. During tonights radio broadcast Ron talked about Sarge and Clines hitting advice to Murton. They told him he needed to be more aggressive. Hes too patient. Are you kidding me?! Is this really his problem, dont they know this is one of his best assets he brings to the dish? If i was too be critical of Murton's swing its that he gets too much on top of the ball and has lot of ground balls and could finish his swing higher. Giving him advice to be more aggressive is the least of his problems and i dont think he really has any big problems. I dont know what pissed me of more during my ride, the Cubs getingt thumped or this bologne i heard about Clines and Sarge.
  17. Its better to hurt you right wrist than left wrist right. Top hand guides the bat and the left wrist rotates more. Im looking for sunshine on a cloudy day.
  18. Dont make me laugh. Im supposed to be sad. i dont feel like feeling good right now.
