  1. So annoying. Overturned TD that was BS, hanging out on the Wisconsin 40 for a couple of drives to start 3rd and only got 3 points. So many chances to legit win. It’s painful when there are 2-3 moments in games that were evenly played that don’t go your way and lead to a loss. Really want this one...still time but not looking great.
  2. That was sadly the most fun watching the Bulls in like 2 years. Dunn looked great on both sides of the court.
  3. Dude who gave Bryant a 1st place MVP vote explains his reasoning: http://m.mlb.com/news/article/262070398/why-kris-bryant-got-first-place-mvp-vote/
  4. I don't think so simply because he's not looked at as an ace. He's a great #3 and pitches like a #1 or #2 much of the time, but still doesn't have that "name" factor. He's 19th in pitching fWAR over the last 2 seasons despite missing 6 weeks this year, won the ERA title and finished 2nd in the Cy Young voting in 2016 and is just hitting his 1st year of arbitration meaning he has 3 years of control. His career ERA is 2.94 over 600 innings and his career postseason ERA is 2.88 over 10 starts, including giving up 1 ER combined in pennant and world series clinching games in 2016. GMs don't care about his name value, he gets tons of praise for his ability to locate and inducing weak contact not to mention comparisons to Maddux for his cerebral approach to pitching. He would get a lot if offered for a trade.
  5. Duh Fab Melo Ummm... http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/18668751/former-syracuse-boston-celtics-center-fab-melo-dies-brazil horsefeathers well umm Kemba and Klay then
  6. Is there another melo or is the famous one really still somebody teams would want to sign in 2019? How old is he, 35? Duh Fab Melo
  7. Remember 2 weeks ago when people were worried the Bulls were too good to get a good spot in the lottery?
  8. Well normally the rumors ive seen from him and Sears are rehashed stuff from the beat and national guys. Those are not worth posting other than to make fun of them.
  9. I normally don’t pass along rumors from this particular person because he seems to have the same type of reputation that Sean Sears does on Twitter, but since he is actually placing a timeline on it and another person backed him up I felt like It was worth posting...take with a grain of salt though.. 10. Embracing the Professor nickname....and smiling?
  11. Fangraphs has him at 1.8 wins in just 69 games in 2015. That is nice. Expand that to 150 games and that's 3.9 win pace. Last year was just 1.5 but was a year after missing the entire season with an injury, was still his first full season and he was demoted for multiple weeks and when he came back up was basically a platoon bat. This is supposed to make us feel .... better .... about Schwarber? Not necessarily, but Backtobanks was calling out TT's estimation of Schwarber potentially being a 4 WAR player. Just showing he's played at that pace before. Can he play at that pace for a full season? He will probably have to start hitting lefthanders at a minimum. But its possible based on what we've seen. I'd be ecstatic if Schwarber was worth 4 wins next year.
  12. I don't know where you get Schwarber being near 4 WAR because baseball reference has him at 0 for 2017 and 1.1 for his career. I agree that Almora can be a 3+ CF. You might be right about Happ being a 2-3 player and being as good as it gets. I just don't understand posters willing to be patient with the youth offensive flaws of Russell, Schwarber, etc., but aren't willing to see what Happ can do. The potential of a 30+ HR, switch-hitting, fast, versatile 23year old is not something to quickly dismiss.
  13. I think we have to sign Harper next yr to keep Bryant beyond 2021. IF Harper doesn't join Bryant in Chicago, Bryant very likely joins Harper elsewhere. don't think that's even a little bit true but i hope we sign bryce harper I really think if he leaves Washington he’s coming here. It seems like the Cubs are his preferred destination and it sounds like Theo is going to offer whatever it takes to get him.
  14. The NIT of soccer. I would assume FIFA would throw a fit about this happening the same year as the actual World Cup? USA Italy Ghana Chile Ivory Coast Netherlands Paraguay Czech Republic Would be a fun tournament even though even if the USMNT gets housed. US recoups a fraction of the money they will lose for not making the WC, and Pulisic gets some national team tournament experience against top teams in UEFA, CONMEBOL and CAF.
  15. Random thing to write about, but Javy continues to amaze and entertain.
  16. Kind of crazy that Ian Happ didn’t get a single ROY vote (i think they vote for top 3). Very strong year for rookies...if this was a different season he might have won it. Edit: i stand corrected. Looks like he got 1 third place vote
  17. Didn’t see a thread appropriate for this so created one for all smaller type of rumors [tweet] [/tweet]
  18. It's still 2 seasons away. Lauri could make it, whoever the Bulls take in the top 4 next year could make it and as much as it would hurt a proper rebuild, I still believe the Bulls are going to try to take a big swing in FA this year, given all the stories about how only I think 5 teams are expected to be under the cap this offseason (In order from most to least: Indiana, Chicago, LA Lakers, Dallas, Atlanta) and really only the top 3 have significant cap space. So yeah the Lakers will probably sign LeBron and possibly George, and the Bulls will have their choice of whoever doesn't resign with their current team (Cousins, DeAndre Jordan, Isaiah Thomas, Chris Paul). Or they punt on this mediocre class and look at 2019 (Melo, Klay Thompson, Kemba Walker) And if they don't have an AS, oh well. Is it really that big of a deal? Ideally you'd like one when you host but its happened before (Denver in 2005, Atlanta in 2003)
  19. Italy is out of the WC
  20. Enjoyed reading this from das wunderkind https://www.theplayerstribune.com/christian-pulisic-usmnt-world-cup/amp/
  21. I still can't believe that performance. I don't claim to have watched a lot of Miami football this year but looking at their previous results it looks like they barely got by a few mediocre to bad teams. Miracle catch to beat GT, TD pass with 6 seconds left to beat FSU, had to make a defensive stand to hold off a 2-8 UNC team.
  22. That explanation by Fox is such horseshit. Literally the first time i saw a replay i said “geez i hope they don’t call that a touchback”.
  23. I don’t hate it but honestly what’s the point unless you are evaluating Fangio’s ability to be a head coach. I know there’s been some trashing on him after this one but he’s the only coach with any sort of remote potential to be an NFL ahead coach on the staff
  24. 17 of Fox’s 29 losses as a Bears coach have been by 1 score or less. That seems high. Is it that bad teams usually make enough mistakes to consistently lose winnable games or do John Fox teams make too many critical errors to win very many close games?
  25. Yeah not impressed with his accuracy overall today although he had some nice throws
