  1. Yeah, I hate saying it, but I don't want this wreck of a team having anything more to do with the Brewers this season. I’m the opposite. We’ve already surrendered our manhood to the Brewers this season. Losing to them again would not make it worse. Beating them would make it so much better.
  2. I tried this yesterday and David and others pointed out that they are actually slightly below average at hitting LHP when you adjust for park effects
  3. The smell of stale champagne in the visitors clubhouse will propel the Rockies to victory
  4. The one that bugs me the most is all the whining about the schedule. If I’m exhausted from watching the Cubs, I’m sure they are even more exhausted being the Cubs
  5. Let's hope Lester can go 7-8 innings somehow and we don't have to use Cole. The one advantage we had over the other WC potential teams moving forward was our rotation was set up perfectly for the DS. Use Hamels and suddenly we're looking at a Monty start and/or a bullpen game for Game 2 of the NLDS
  6. Of course, you can't have the Cubs off for too long.
  7. thanks for the heads up. I don't think I'll go but I'll try to pull up tickets and if I do decide from there. I'm sure they will be the $300 seats though
  8. Edwards is not on the roster for this game. Supposedly he has "right arm discomfort" Strop is on it though Kind of crazy to have Mills, De La Rosa and Rosario on a postseason roster, even if for the wild card game. Wouldnt have expected that 2 months ago
  9. Murphy has a better chance of hitting a baseball, and that's the one thing this team needs the mostest help with 563 OPS vs LHP. And did you see his last AB? He was clueless. Bote has an .871 OPS against lefties (vs. .668 against righties). I like this idea
  10. Ask Corey Kluber about Game 7. Yes I know he shut us down in Game 4 on short rest and I don’t give a horsefeathers. I always attributed that to starting on short rest twice in a row. Meh
  11. Is it? I’ve seen pitchers throw great games on 3 days rest and I’ve seen them get shelled. As a whole starting pitchers are worse on 3 days rest but yeah I’m sure there’s ones that do fine on it. Freeland has never done it before as a starter. I read that he started on 3 days rest after a relief appearance last year and got lit up Edit: nvm it looks like they moved him to the pen at the end of last year, presumably to preserve his innings and still get value from him during playoff chase. He ended up starting once more and gave up 2 ER in 3 innings
  12. Is it? I’ve seen pitchers throw great games on 3 days rest and I’ve seen them get shelled.
  13. Freeland has 2 career starts against the Cubs. Last year at Coors 6 IP, 3 ER and this year at Wrigley 7 IP, 3 ER Despite this, the current Cubs have combined for a .475 OPS against him. The only Cub with any success is pre-broken KB who is 2-5 with a triple against him
  14. Freeland is going to mow us the hell down. I don’t care if it’s 3 days rest. If we win it’s a 2-1 type of game
  15. Needs it’s own thread because if the Cubs lose tomorrow we are going to have a boring ass 2 weeks waiting for this one. As was stated in last week’s game thread, Acho is out for the year. I believe after the bye the Bears play the entire AFC East over the following 4 weeks starting with a game in Miami against Gase
  16. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=1&season=2018&month=13&season1=2018&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=16,d huh? maybe forgot to toss the + in wRC+ https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=1&season=2018&month=13&season1=2018&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=13,d Yeah. What is the difference, that is a big jump? I just saw OPS and was smart enough to look beyond that because Coors. Then wRC and wOBA which they lead the NL in Edit: I’m guessing the + adjusts for park effects doesn’t it? I feel better knowing that
  17. God I just realized how annoying it would be to have 2 different teams celebrate clinching a spot in the NLDS on back to back days and celebrating in the visitors locker room. Especially when you are the 1 team out of the 4 that doesn’t get to advance to the next round and both of the games were at home
  18. If we win 4 more games I will still consider them right just like how the Cubs were the 2015 NL Central champs
  19. With us playing the Rockies we will have played playoff games against every NL West team and every NL team except the Phillies, Reds and Brewers (since today doesn’t count)
  20. At least them having the later flight and the travel from LA, the Rockies probably won’t get into their hotel rooms until 2am. It’s a night game tomorrow of course but that might hurt their sleep a bit
  21. Was wondering about that. Thanks for making me feel better. Sorry I just remember seeing that the other day. .798 OPS against lefties
  22. FYI no team in the NL is better at crushing lefties than the Colorado Rockies. Good luck Jon
  23. Q routinely gets shelled the third time through the order (I think his OPS against is like .930 this year). Yelich hit a leasoff single and he was about to face their 3-4-5 hitters with 0 outs in a tie game. If he leaves Q in and he gets shelled the uproar is a lot worse. The key for me is still removing Chavez after just 16 pitches so that LaStella could hit with 2 outs and no one on. The chances of the Cubs producing a run in that situation with LaStella Heyward and Happ due up are very low. The chances of Justin Wilson coming in and [expletive] all over himself against the top of the Brewers order is much higher. I will be angry about that decision until the end of time if the Cubs lose tomorrow
  24. Guessing if he pitches, Monty would start game 2 of the NLDS, with Quintana available for a couple innings on 3 days rest. Hendricks, Monty/Q, Lester/Hamels, Hamels/Lester, Hendricks. No reason to pitch Q in game 2 on short rest There is when you dont trust Monty to go more than a few innings. Plus otherwise there is no use for him in the series if you assume Hamels and Lester will get starts and Hendricks game 5.
