  1. it sucks that he missed that kick in Miami but i don't really see how Parkey has been a big problem he's 13/16... 5/7 from 40-49 and 1/2 from 50+ (28/28 on xp also) I just dont see him as the future. Love to be wrong I mean yes you'd like to have a solid stable kicker like we had with Gould for the previous decade but among concerns for the Bears, having a kicker of the future is pretty low.
  2. What does that say about the front office getting rid of pitching and hitting coaches with no major issues (other than the Bosio racism that we didn't know about at the time, maybe Theo and Jed did) and then firing their handpicked replacements after 1 season? Not criticizing the FO in general, just always thought letting both of them go in one offseason was an odd move even if they identified 2 people they liked more.
  3. Yeah I'm pretty down on the Bulls but I would still put them over the Sox at this point. Pros for Sox: - A lot of talent in the minors even though its maybe not all developing as well as they've hoped and some setbacks - A lot of room for their payroll to go up - The Indians are really the only team in the Central that is really set up to be a threat over the next couple of seasons (maaybe the Twins) and their window might be closing so you could see a best case scenario 85 win White Sox team take the AL Central Cons for Sox: - Simply a lot harder to make the playoffs in baseball in general, but especially in the AL as currently structured, than it is in the crappy as NBA Eastern Conference - Attendance will always hurt their payroll ceiling
  4. Sucks, I know some people wanted him
  5. But Lombardi says Mitch sucks and the Bears havent played anyone good so obviously we suck
  6. Lombardi isn't totally wrong on the Bears though. They really haven't beaten a good team yet. Can only play who is on the schedule. They've only played IME 3 teams that are decent, the Seahawks, Dolphins and Patriots. Beat Seattle, a couple of plays made the difference in a close loss at Miami and the Patriots-Bears game was decided on 2 special teams TDs and a hail mary to the 1. Not that we should be counting almost wins at this point, but the point is that its not like the Bears are getting dominated in their losses. They haven't been dominated in any game this year. Also I'm pretty sure Lombardi is a former PFF guy and PFF has the Bears as one of the best teams in the league.
  7. We’ll just have to wait for the next 26 year old generational talent who is friends and grew up playing baseball with our teams best player and has shown a desire to come play for us.
  8. Boras trying really really hard to engage the Yankees in the Harper derby
  9. I've been thinking, I feel like Theo is harder on the team than some posters here. Like, while some were trying to calm the fears of our offense being junk, I feel like he thinks it was total junk and horsefeathers needs to happen. I like that. It reminds me of that article that came out in 2016 about Theo and how he reacts to losses: http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/17588399/theo-epstein-mastermind-cubs-season
  10. They aren't but they are paying a lot of money to 2 particular geriatrics to lead the defense and they've both regressed, Seabrook considerably more than Keith. Because of how much of the cap they take up (along with Toews and Kane who are both still productive, Kane moreso) the Hawks don't have very much depth, especially defensively where they are paying for two top pairing defensemen but aren't anywhere close to getting top pairing production from anyone on the roster.
  11. I would have fired Bowman before Q, but I'm not super upset about this move. I would have been fine if they kept him too. Sometimes a new voice is a good thing, though I'm not sure any one coach is going to turn the talent on this roster into a playoff team.
  12. Yeah but 1 slip up before the playoffs would have no affect on their playoff status unless its to Georgia in the SEC title game, and even then it has more effect on teams like Michigan/OSU than it does Bama.
  13. ...oh wait that quote was about Maddon’s extension
  14. Honestly the more I see this posted by so many people the more convinced I am that this is what the Cubs want out there
  15. Jeez, forgot about the Thanksgiving game. That's dumb.
  16. One possible advantage to the White Sox signing Harper [tweet] [/tweet]
  17. Wow Chicago linked to both Harper AND Manny [tweet] [/tweet]
  18. They went into Minnesota and beat the Vikings before getting destroyed by SF. If my memory is correct the 49ers were 17 point favorites. Yep. I remember watching that SF game with my dad. On the 49ers first possession, they lost a fumble to the Bears, who then kicked a FG for a 3-0 lead. My dad gave me a high five and I thought they were going to win. By halftime I think I was playing Mortal Kombat.
  19. My little quirky facts that only I care about: It would be interesting if the Bears made the playoffs without a bye because it would be the first time they played on Wild Card weekend in 24 years (1994 was the last time). I'm assuming that has to be the longest streak in football. Edit: 1994 is also the last time they've played a road playoff game (besides the neutral site Super Bowl XLI)
  20. Crazy that the Packers are a caught interception from Fuller and a made 35 yard FG from Dan Bailey away from a 2-6 start. And those 2 wins would be over Buffalo and a last second FG win over the 49ers. They aren’t at all good are they?
  21. They had, arguably, the best player in college football running their offense that year. I think Clemson is plenty good and probably the 2nd best team but I think Bama is quite a bit better and wins easily when/if they play. I’d guess Bama will be a 8+ point favorite in that game. Oh I agree and it’s boring because Bama will almost assuredly win another championship. I just thought it puzzling to put Clemson in the “second tier” by Raw. If anything, they are the best bet imo to have another game of their life and put up a fight against Alabama. But yes, I think Bama +8 with Clemson sounds about right currently Close
  22. theo seems to do better when his back is to the wall and he has to get creative anyways (If I say it out loud it has to be true)
  23. One more win and we match our best season since 2013 Will be interesting to see how things play out now that the schedule gets tougher. Can we go 5-3 on the back end and finish 10-6? Let’s say they split with every NFC North team, that gives us 3-2 (since we already lost to GB), then wins over the Giants and Niners and loss to LAR. Seems very doable
  24. Trubisky makes some inexplicable decisions on passes
