  1. White Sox now 21-3 against the Royals, Pirates and Tigers and still 9-13 against every other team. Crazy that 52% of their games have been against teams that lost over 100 games last year and appear to be just as bad this year. I give them credit for beating the teams on their schedule, I’m not saying they are secretly not good, just that it’s hard to say how good they really are at this point. To compare, the Cubs are 9-4 against those 3 teams and 19-16 against everyone else. 11 of their final 14 games are against the Twins, Indians and Cubs (other 3 against Cincinnati)
  2. Yeah I figured there was a good deal of luck in the no hitter. Doesn’t take anything away from his performance though
  3. Congrats Mills, what an accomplishment! Second favorite no hitter for the Cubs at Miller Park since I was at the first one
  4. The Brewers are totally a team that would drop a bunt down 10 to break up a no hitter Edit: Down 12 too
  5. I'm pretty sure Ross doesn't see the same urgency to these games you do. Also, he is a rookie manager - he will get better. Clearly throwing Kimbrel out there is looking ahead to the playoffs though as opposed to desperately trying to win a game. Eh. He should see that urgency. That’s why he was hired, to bring urgency to every game. Until a playoff spot is clinched that should be the case. I also don’t see how that relates to what I said. I’m not saying he should have forced Jeffress in there last night. I’m saying his decision to not have Jeffress come in to start the 9th possibly lost that game on Friday and his unavailability last night could have blown up in his face.
  6. Holy crap, I’ve been following the score but didn’t realize that was happening
  7. Mitch saved his job today. But this is the same Mitch we got in 2018. Is below average until the game plan is thrown out the window and then suddenly comes alive. I’d certainly rather have that Mitch than 2019 Mitch but I’d also really like a QB who is better than both of them. Good comeback win, despite my earlier posts, my fandom is secure because the win made me very happy
  8. Haha. Come on D
  9. I hate to be a fairweathered fan but this franchise just doesn’t interest me anymore. Last night I realized that about 92% of the reason I was excited about football was due to fantasy football. I’ve watched Red Zone 100% of the time on my TV and only turning on the Bears game from my phone. I’m tweeting about it but my attention has been focused on Lamar Jackson, Davante Adams, etc. I hate to say fire everyone again but I think it’s clear that Nagy is not the guy, Pace is not the guy and Mitch is not the guy. I actually really wanted to like Pace but I can’t get over the trade to draft Mitch and the doubling and tripling down on him this offseason just killed me
  10. Sounds pretty accurate to me
  11. As great as this win was, and it was great, I’d still like to comment on that fact that Ross didn’t pitch Jeffress yesterday until the game was almost impossible to win, which made it so that he wasn’t available today in a game we almost really needed him in. How do you put yourself in that position?
  12. So first of all awesome rally Cubs. But if Kimbrel blows the game, this would be a masterpiece of suck from Ross. 1) Has Wick try to pitch a second inning in the bottom of the 9th in a tie game yesterday even though Jeffress is warmed up 2) Finally brings in Jeffress in an almost impossible situation especially for a low K pitcher, which predictably doesn’t work out 3) Now tonight Jeffress is presumably burned for this game where they actually need him to close it out
  13. I guess we should go ahead and fire the hitting coach. Probably isn’t the problem but he’s definitely not helping. Almost every single one of their best hitters coming into the year are having the career worst years and while you can point to the weirdness of the pandemic season and/or the small sample size, it seems like the Cubs drop is larger than what other teams are experiencing.
  14. Don’t worry, Theo thinks that if we keep the core group together, next year they will finally put it together and learn how to make contact and hit breaking balls
  15. I think you are overstating the importance of these 2 games. Definitely bigger than the Indians and Twins games but with the Brewers and Cardinals playing 10 of their final 18 or so games against each other, the Cubs should be fine unless one team wins like 9 of them and the Reds get hot, or the Cubs completely flat line
  16. After not being shut out for the first 42 games of the season they’ve now been shut out in 2 of the last 3 games. Basically every hitter is in some kind of slump right now except Contreras. Some of them have been in slumps most of the year. Brutal
  17. Like was he trying to save his closer for a save situation?
  18. Dude what the horsefeathers is wrong with Ross? Like these are glaringly bad decisions that are starting to happen with regularity
  19. Lovely offensive performance tonight
  20. I have serious concerns about Ross and his ability to manage. I mean someone has said that about every manager ever but these are some really bizarre decisions he’s making.
  21. Wow did not expect a 4 run inning off Gray and Gray being pulled after 3.1 IP
