  1. Mildly interesting way to distract fans from a terrible baseball team. Interested to see what non-MLB HOF players make it to the Cubs HOF. If Sammy isn't in there (and he won't be) the whole thing is a sham Anyways, anyone care to make guesses? DLee ARam ugh...Dempster Zambrano Prior Wood Dunston Grace Sutcliffe Monday Reuschel Hundley I'm sure several of the 16 Cubs will make it when they retire but not looking at them yet.
  2. fixed it for you
  3. This is either going to be a disaster for the Padres, or a disaster for us if they see something fixable and manage to make him adequate.
  4. I don't have a BA sub but it sounds like they ranked our farm system 24th today? Ugh.
  5. This is literally porn
  6. Are we still willing to consider Javy back? I don’t think he’s endearing himself to the Mets even before his injury and the team is quickly sliding out of contention. I could see the Mets not wanting to make a big investment in his during the offseason even with Lindor advocating for him. With Seager, Story and Correa available, hes not likely to be any teams top choice and is likely going to be having teams waiting out his market after the big guys sign. I think there is still mutual interest in Javy coming back, possibly more than Rizzo or Bryant, so the stars could align, assuming we want to go that route over being another team going after the top 3 SS
  7. I can’t see a scenario where the Cubs win another game this season
  8. Launch angles Happ 9.4 Bote 10.2 Heyward 7.6 Wisdom 19.2 Ortega 18.5 Schwindel 18.1 I thought the whole reason Bote was a thing and we signed him to a very random extension was because he mastered launch angles
  9. Every “old” Cubs player in this lineup is hitting under .200 this season and every “new” player in the lineup is hitting above .250. Matt Duffy is kind of a tweener since he had a role with the old Cubs but only for a couple of weeks. I consider him a new player. Old: Happ - .177 Heyward .195 Bote - .197 New: Romine - .250 Duffy - .255 Chirinos - .267 Ortega - .331 Schwindel- .378
  10. Well I mean if this team showed a pulse, it makes selling whatever vision Jed has easier. At that point it becomes a money thing. But if this team continues to play like this there is no way to convince him they are going to be as competitive as other teams who are bidding for him it's not the NBA, if they offer more money, players will come. I guarantee no players are out there saying, "oh, that team has a losing stink." give me a break. Right if the Cubs pay more they will sign him. Not like Lester who took less money to come to the Cubs because he bought into their vision and trajectory.
  11. Funny after yesterday to read this Reddit thread after Mitch’s first preseason game
  12. Rossy taking care of his buddies
  13. They having a losing stink to them now. We’ll have to a premium to get someone like Seager. idk why anyone is even getting their hopes up of us adding somebody like seager Well I mean if this team showed a pulse, it makes selling whatever vision Jed has easier. 15. From what people on Twitter were saying (that were at the game) almost no WRs were open in the first half. Dunno if that’s true but it sure seemed like it
  16. This does not bring me any comfort about the line. Nagy claims it has nothing to do with Jenkins but I have a really hard time seeing how it couldn’t be. Really wish we found a way to keep Leno. Was such a big gamble assuming Jenkins would be able to start at LT week 1 Edit: he says nothing to do with Jenkins but then he says this
  17. Interesting. Thought he was out of the league
  18. Because you don’t want Fields to start a possession at the 1-yard line? They need to find a returner They also need a coach that doesn’t tell their players to take every single kick out. Get that mentality in your head and you do things like that. Maybe it’s just a preseason thing, but they did this all last year with Patterson and repeatedly put themselves in poor field position
  19. I don’t think so
  20. I’m so happy. Second string preseason but this is awesome
  21. This is the horsefeathers I wanted to see. Reading the field and making something out of broken plays. Looked in complete command there.
  22. Yikes that was bad drive. Fumbled snap (100% on the snapper), almost throws an interception and then fumbled the ball when he should have ran out of bounds.
